Razor looked and sounded meek. I cant picture him giving them a half time spray at all.
The body language from himself and Ardie was (for want of a better adjective) Beta.
Early days but he is looking like a man under the pump already,
And I’m not so sure it’s just a win loss thing,
But more how he visualised in his mind he could coach them to play, what he thought would be the winning formula, isn’t working on the field
Razor is in a tricky spot now. Does he change things up and risk looking like he stuffed up and/or getting accused of not knowing what he is doing, or does he back his original plan despite the early stumbling?
Everyone has plans until you get smashed in the mouth....
Maybe his team underestimated how hard it would be to execute his vision for the ABs. The longer he does the same thing with no significant improvement in performance or results it will START to look like arrogance and pig headedness.
It will continue to look like earlier coaches...

Oh and don't empty the bench all at once, against England the timing seemed better.
Maybe also review the halftime talk.
Lord didn't look ready. Aumua might have thrown to no one jumping but also his throwing looked inaccurate - why has it suddenly deteriorated? -

The blueprint is there! The periods of play that led to ALB and Telea's try were awesome (I hope to God that's not the point where we deviated from coach instructions). But we're in need of tweaks.
And seriously the team needs more bodies in motion. Even the ruthlessly efficient Boks have more guys moving off the ball than we do.
I thought ALB's try was a bee's dick away from being intercepted. Not saying the Argie went for the intercept, but if he was in a slightly different position it was there for the taking.

Ok there's enough to hate on without hating on the actual good stuff

Just watched the South Africa game.
Rassie is trolling the sport at his stage, and it's great to see.
The aft pod catching a line out and throwing it back to the front pod while in mid air. Resulted in Kolisi's try.
Kolbe feeding the scrums to give the defence a different picture to look at.
The bench splits. The bomb squad. The traffic light system. Acting the maggot in the media.
I remember Fozzie sneering at Irelands "copy and paste attack" after the quarter final.
We are no better and have been serving up the same dross under what now looks like 3 consecutive coaching tickets.
Sideways sideways sideways and then a cross field kick or Hail Mary chip and chase.
We are neither the innovators, the bullies or hardest workers.
We are a distinctly vanilla team.

This fucks me off the most, more than the brain farts and errors. I was happy with loses if there appeared to be a change into better formation and tactics. But there isn't, and no matter how well the players go, without that decent gameplan they aren't going to dominate. They can win with indivivueal brilliance, but that's not enough. And the gameplan was eithe rnon existant or non executed - either way the coaching team owns that as they players either did get the plan and it was shit or can't/don't undertand the plan and fail
-
I often hear talking heads refer to Beaudys communication from the back and experience and game management. It was particularly contrasted with Stevensons perceived inability to tackle and Jordans lack of experience as a test 15. The same "experience" tag is wheeled out for the likes of Perenara or ALB.
But when you are conceding 38 points at home anyway with Beuady marshalling from the back, maybe we need to give the other teams something to worry about. Get our difference makers on the field.
Clarke, Jordan, Sititi, Ratima (Roigard when fit). Stevenson or someone else with a big boot.
Anything.
It cant be worse than this can it?
Today wasnt a bad day at the office. It is quite normal for the 2020-2024 Allblacks vintage.
We have seen it before. -
That press conference. Yikes!
Ardie competing for Christian of the Year.
Scott Robertson is "hurt"
Bunch of bullshit. Both should be pissed and angry.
I didn't go along with the outrage over the omission of Sotutu and Akira.
Now it appears it was fully justified.
I understand there may have been reservations on both, but the ignoring of their form this year is unforgivable.
Razor thought he was special.
That he was going to play the 'Canterbury way' with a bunch of 6.5s.
This now appears at best deluded and at worst conceited and clueless. He spent energy on trying to bring Richie Mo' back in, but someone needs to tell him to get Akira out of his contract.
We need more muscle and a new gameplan badly.
Will the Canterbury mates club be able to change?
I don't have a lot of hope at this stage.
They'll need more losses. -

Ok fellas, bottom line is we lost last night (looked poor), but positive we got Pumas at home next week, and they not really that good so we will win then. So will everything be ok then?
The way we play has to change. That's almost as important as the result. Another scratchy victory will only paper over the cracks

I'm getting real sick of hearing players say they've gotta take the learnings. And it irritates beyond the grammar; just why do you need to learn the same dumb shit time after time as professional rugby players?
Does losing actually hurt anymore? I can't imagine a bunch of these players would survive with All Blacks from previous the millenia.

Not sure you've been paying attention, but we just lost to the Pumas at home.

Darry did his job well in the lineout but so were the other targets at the time. Did anyone notice whether he stood up in the dark stuff? Did he win his collisions, knock people back? I am not saying he didn't, I just didn't notice because I was looking at other stuff.

the good thing about the ABs slowly having become a good instead of an incredible team (circa 2010-2016) is that losses don't take an emotional toll on my well being anymore. Another loss? no problem, I'll go back to pretending rugby doesn't exist
Yep, doesn't hurt nearly as much anymore. But I kind of miss that. I hope we get back to that level but I think I know in my heart we probably never will.

They're a different breed. Raised on social media and media trained to an inch of their lives. Same with the majority of ex players providing insight. Usual banal or canned statements. Well apart from SBW, but that's because he's a farking tard.

Yep I feel exactly the same way, sick of hearing that shit,I reckon you are right it doesn't hurt these players enough when they lose its just another lose now.
It is starting as a Fan to make me feel the same as no end seems to be in sight. -

It is starting as a Fan to make me feel the same as no end seems to be in sight. No wonder the games don't sell out right now. Not saying the players don't have pride (I'm sure they do), but there just doesn't seem to be the intensity to not lose as there used to. It's probably just me getting older... Apparently you can still buy tickets to EP for this weekend

Watching the interview with Will Jordan after the match, grinning his head off, doing autographs and selfies for fans, and not showing an ounce of regret/hurt.
Fuck that.
And then pulling out all the same vague bullshit in the actual 'interview', obviously not knowing what all the buzzwords are even intended to actually mean... just... that's what he got taught in "Interviews 101".
