Ripped for Raro 2016

Back into the swing of thing. No weights whatsoever this week but some big hill walks, plyometrics and push ups/dips/chins etc. Pretty certain the Whey has aided my recovery, not only that the strawberry flavour is actually pretty decent !

A week of piss and fine food is all well and good but you definitely feel better when this is done in moderation especially as your 40th birthday approaches.
-
Engaged! I don't know whether I should congratulate you or send my condolences

I spent a bit of the holiday drunk but not the whole time so can't even blame that :-)
-

I think I hate and love cardio equally now. Part of my morning routine is a quick but extremely tough walk up a track near where I live. I've taken to gently jogging up it now and watching the times come down is pretty satisfying. Only 15 or so minutes but the burning lungs and sweat I build up indicates I'm doing something beneficial ! Really nice view of the town belt makes it a pretty satisfying walk.

I think I speak for many on here when I saw fuck going on an hour run, who has time for that shit ?
-

yep, it's the one thing I do like about high intensity training. If I've gotta do cardio I want it over asap and feel like I've smashed myself. Not a fan of long works or low impact cardio. Pfft

Long runs are a sure fire way to lose "gains" too and I know I speak for both of us when I say that's a fate worse than death.
-

hell yeah! anything over 100m is just pissing away that muscle mass ha ha

With these ever lengthening daylight hours I'll soon be able to start doing stair sprints after work again. Nearly that time of year!

Yeah other half is keen for some of that sort of stuff so we're gonna end up being one of "those" couples over spring/summer ( shudders )
-

I'm sure there are some benefits to be had bro!

Well whichever way it goes we're not doing matching lycra I can assure you of that
-
Inspired by the ol boy @JK I did some stair "sprints" yesterday. Fucken fantastic burn in the legs and lungs in a very short period of time. I was only going up and down for less than ten minutes and was hammered in a short period of time. Way better that than doing cardio for a long time and risk losing my gains bro !

I did stair sprints last night but hadn't posted it in my thread yet...
Was that you @MN5 in the bushes then making all those grunting noises????

Here are some pics of the patented MN5 stairs of doom, just a few brisk walks up and down them this morning, with the recent weather I'd be stupid to run and risk slipping and fucking myself up !
Photos don't really do them justice.......bit of a blind spot as you're running up which is potentially dangerous if someones coming the other way !

Feeling E=MC Hammered after this morning brutal stairs workout. Went up and down 5 times WITHOUT ANY rest whatsoever, whole thing woulda taken 6-8 minutes but legs were like jelly, lungs absolutely killing me.....hard work just ambling across the flat to get home.
But that vs a one hour run ? no contest.....
Will aim for this three times a week ( Monday, Wednesday, Friday ) with a day off to recover cos it's potentially tough on the joints. Still a bit muddy even though it hasn't rained in a few days today too.

I like that there is a Danger signed pinned on those stairs. Big Red on a rampage!!
