Razor continues to have a massive horn for Blackadder. That's all very well but it's time for him to show everyone why now
it's not just Razor. The last group did everything they could to get him involved as well. I wish someone would tell us what we are missing.
I hope he can prove us wrong and in a few years we look back on this time the way people look at Nonu's early years
Blackadder is 29 and should be in his prime right now. I struggle to see how he can get any better from here, especially when he is out of action as often as he is. He's going to be 32 at the next World Cup, id hate to know what his body is like by then.
As I posted in another thread a while back, he has been a Crusader since 2018. Since then, he has played on average 7 games a season for them. As we know, for the majority of players(forwards especially) its downhill from 30 years old... I really struggle to see the benefit of giving him a full shot on the 6 jersey moving forward because as history shows, this guy cant stay healthy and father time is going to do him no favours.
I can acknowledge that when he's is healthy and fit he is an absolute weapon but its very few and far between and feels like its been a couple years since he's played like the player he's still hyped up to be.
Expecting some people to disagree with me and thats fair enough, but thats my opinion on the whole Blackadder situation.
Not so sure on the 32 is too old for a blindside flanker Jerome Kaine was dominating at 6 until he was 34 when he played his last test.
6 seems to be a position you get better as you get older to a certain point of course. We are talking about Blackadder here, a guy whose body is already broken.
Well is it now though he has been good for the last while maybe he is over the injuries and will push forward.
Come on mate. 2 Crusaders games on the bounce and an All Blacks test against Fiji isn’t exactly ‘the last while’, it’s 3 games.
Like I said, when healthy the guy is a weapon but unfortunately we hardly get to see that. I do hope he can stay healthy, but my opinion about him being at his peak now won’t change.
We are talking about now still not injured is he, so let us see what happens.
If he goes down again then probably time to move on.I’m not sure what your point is so just going to stop after this message. He was injured at training during the England series so didn’t play and has played 1 game against Fiji. So to answer to your question though about his current health status, the answer is no, he’s played 1 game and he isn’t injured(yet).
Agree about the last sentence in your message.
Still not injured atm is my point so let us see what happens going forward pretty simple really.
That's not really what you said...
Well is it now though he has been good for the last while maybe he is over the injuries and will push forward.
He's played... what 3 games this year.... and managed to pick up a niggle injury somewhere in between his last Crusaders game (before the playoffs) and the England series.

It depends what you think The last while means does it not.
So going in to this game he has been fit for
4 weeks as he was training in the week of the 2nd English test.
To me that is a while especially for Blackadder. -
Baffling are the comments about Niggles. You naysayers are definitely watching a different game to me. Highly effective, rugged loose forward with a huge workrate.
Can't defend the injury run however... -

Highly effective
Only if effective is arriving to the breakdown to observe the ball leaving. Or if the ball is still there, gently flopping in.

How do you know he is not over his injuries you have to start at a certain point to get over A run of injuries, you can’t say the last 4 weeks is not the start of being injury free.
It may not but be, do you know for 100% it is not. -

Really? A nickname must mean something essential?
For example, "Suitcase" never seemed to go anywhere. -

Looking forward to seeing how Darry goes, promising debut. Not looking forward to seeing Blackadder covering lock when Lord gets injured sitting on the bench.
Hoping Beauds continues his upward curve and Jordan doesn't get exposed even worse at fullback than he did on the wing.
Interested to see how this midfield works.
And fingers crossed Telea and Perenara get back to early season form.
What the fuck @Bones ? This comment is ridiculous. Since when was Jordan in danger of not getting straight back in ?
-
Team looks wack. I guess teams will always look a little worse now that so many legends have left NZR again after another world cup cycle.
Hope the locks step up. Va'ai has been a lot better this season. Will be interesting how the scrum goes with a new engine room. Props can only do so much.
Blackadder has to improve quite a bit.
Tele'a being all slippery is cool, but sometimes you just need a bit more pace. Clarke would have been my pick, I hated him before this season, but he has improved so much. J Barrett needs to get a bit more consistent, but love his long drop outs. McKenzie has been pretty good. Always was a fan of ALB, glad he is getting a start. Maybe Rieko in for Tele'a at 60 mins?
Still have a soft spot for Beauden, ever since he burst onto the scene in 2012, no matter how shitty his exit kicks are and how I sometimes scream at the highly illegal stream on my laptop when he does a silly chip - when they come off, I'd suck his balls again. -

Yep and Jordie got smashed and missed kicks, Cane got cared……shall we go on about every flaw every player has committed or shall we be positive and move forward.
Blackadder failed the ABs in that game too by not playing.
