Canoe and kayak slalom are great events.

At the swimming the guy announcing the names in English sounds like Barack Obama. No wonder the swimmers feel like they can.

It’s seem a bit weird that you can swap swimmers in and out of the relay between earlier races and the final.

Great mornings work. Thought we might pip the USA but I think we used up the energy from 1000 to 1500 m. We are bloody good at rowing for a small country.
Yes. NZ has a great record for a country of such a relatively small population.
The worst sporting country by a mile is India. Most populous country in the world and they currently have 3 bronze medals. Get the impression 98% live in abject poverty and 2% have unbridled wealth.
They're the least athletic people I've ever seen
I think Barcelona recently shuttered their Academy there without signing a single prospect.

They do that on the track as well I think. Way back in the day they could even do that in individual events (or at least in the WC). Now that was stoopid.

On the athletics, there's a good chance that NZ will finish with zero medals. Walsh doesn't look like the force he once was but still a medal chance. Hamish Kerr will be a medal chance if he can hit his best height. We're strong in women's pole vault but only McCartney has a medal chance if she can hit her season's best - would be a great story after all her injury issues.
On the track, making finals will be the target. Tanner a chance in the 1,500m but not a real medal prospect. Preston who recently broke Snell's NZ record for 800m is still only ranked 23rd in the world this year which shows the standard! Geordie Beamish has the 8th best time this year for 3000m steeplechase which is awesome and he could be a chance of top 10 behind all the Ethiopians and Kenyans.

Barbarian was right (first time etc). I’ve moved the other topic.
Let’s go back to leading questions about the authenticity of the Aussie swimmers ….
Yes, how bloody authentic are they. Loaded up with a double dose of the ANZAC spirit, imbued with the spirit of Phar Lap and Don Bradman.
Where our rivals are on the juice, we just stick to sunshine, mateship and replays of the the final minutes of game 2 in the 94 State of Origin.
You lot could all learn a bit from them.

I'd have thought the Wallabies would've booked all available sessions.

Sounds about right.
Flogged our share of the ANZAC spirit and Phar Lap.
Bloody Australians!

Who stands as a monument to courage and perseverance after she battled back from wrongful (sporting) imprisonment to triumph on the biggest stage.
She makes Nelson Mandela look like Ted Bundy.
