Love the British commentator saying NZ were gone and USA were out of sight. Dick

    was she wrong?

Fuck that's a she? And at the time, yes. NZ came back level.

Wow. That last 250m from the Americans. I would've sworn with 500m to go they were going to be overtaken.

Absolutely. We flew that 500-250 to go to get neck and neck then the yanks just took off.

Brilliant morning. One of each out of 4 races. Can't complain.

Rowing is where it's at mate. We just annihilated them in the mens 4. Thats all that counts ....

Seriously though, that is expected isn't it? Hockeyroos (or whetever they're called) are fairly handy.

That Olympic medal-winning performance was Brooke Francis and Lucy Spoors' first race win since teaming up in the double scull.

    Timing eh. 🙂

NZ now sitting 11th on the medal table. Not bad for a country of just over 5 million

@1kiwi Which got even worse to finish five nil. They do reasonably ok against most other teams but the Aussies seem to always demolish us. Except for 1976 of course!

Yeah Aussie hockey is on another level. All their players full time professionals, where as most of our guys have full time jobs.

We're doing well this Olympics so far.

Reasonable prospects to add another couple in the single scullers.

Where are our other medals going to come from?

Great mornings work. Thought we might pip the USA but I think we used up the energy from 1000 to 1500 m. We are bloody good at rowing for a small country.

I'd say Hamish Kerr in the high jump is a medal prospect. Maybe Tom Walsh in the shotput? Sailing possibly.

Sailing? Cycling? All the sitting down sports. Maybe the high jumper? Tom Walsh in shot put? A track and field medal would be great

@Damo Lisa Carrington a sitter for a couple along with a possible one from Tom Walsh plus the high jumper looking good. Also fingers crossed for Lydia Ko to complete her full set of medals.

Lydia might need Nelly Korda and a few of the other ladies to have some shockers as she hasn't been playing overly well of late.

Still got Emma Twigg & MacIntosh to race their finals in the rowing on Saturday night so there could be more rowing medals to come.

If Zoe Hobbs could make the final of the 100m, that would be amazing

How could I forget Lisa Carrington.

I'd love to see Eliza McCartney win a medal but I gather she's been injured for most of the last 4 years.
