    https://www.chiefs.co.nz/news-item/rising-star-confirms-his-future

    Jacomb will reunite with teammates Damian McKenzie and Kaleb Trask in 2025 as the electric first-five trio for the Gallagher Chiefs.

    Starting strong. Jacomb signed for 2 years. This also telling us that Ioane is gone.

    Good news, and expected.

    The choice of the third hooker will be interesting. Sanerivi or someone else?

    Can't see it being Sanirevi, they'll be looking for someone young for the future.

    There will be few hooker's surplus to requirements at the Canes next year. Maybe Jacob Devery is an option for the Chiefs after being injured all year.

    He is only 24 so hardly old. As I've said Sanerivi will need to be a regular at NPC level first.

    @Yeetyaah Surely Slater is staying.

    The younger hookers in the region are Ioane Moananu, Taine Kolosi, Hakaraia Richards-Coxhead and Sean Ralph.

    As there was no official media release, Dyer is signed until 2027, and Ahio until 2026.

    Starting to hear some whispers about Tupou Vaa’i linking up with Moana Pasifika, does anyone have any knowledge on that or heard that too?

    Thought I’d do a quick search and it says ‘All Blacks lock Tupou Vaa'i's contract extension with the Chiefs and New Zealand Rugby until 2025’. This was posted during the back end of 2022. I’m assuming ‘until’ means he’s about to be off contract at the end of this year(2024).

    Could well be absolute dribble but I’m hearing it from a few people so thought I’d check in here to see if anyone had heard anything as well.

    @Landers92 Vaa'i is contracted for 2025 as well. I've never seen any info about the length of Lord's contract but "officially" MSR is the only Chiefs lock off-contract this year.

    Heard Shaun Stevenson is still flirting with the NRL and heard something about the Western Force being after him.

    Not even the Tigers would take him.

    This version from The Post doesn't seem to be paywalled. A story about Trask and his persistent groin injury.
