@Canes4life Is that U20 winger (Solomon?) in the Hurricanes system?
He is but next year is far too early for him. The Canes haven’t signed him yet, but he’s played for the Dev side etc.
His size is also a worry, I wonder if he’ll be big enough for Super.

He has some skills but I wonder if he is too small for SR as well.

@Canes4life I wonder if they offered Tangitau a contract?

I thought Laidlaw would have gone after him having coached him in both sevens and for the Under 20s. The only good winger we have is Naholo, Sullivan will probably play in the 14 jersey next year and I’ve heard Matt Proctor is close to signing so he’ll be solid without being spectacular.

Salesi Rayasi (Hurricanes) signs for french club Vannes, newly promoted to Top 14.
Sheesh, the Canes are well short on wingers now.
He was just looking the goods too

Funny you say that, I thought he was a bit all over the place. Hope he locks down that 14 jersey and performs well next year though.

@Canes4life Roderick Solo?

Chase Tiatia
Running the water for HOBM on Saturday was Chase Tiatia. The mercurial outside back has cut short his NPC deal with Hawkes Bay and is heading for the Land of the Rising Sun, signing a deal to play with Saeco in the third-tier of Japan’s leagues.

I have absolutely no idea where to put this so throwing it in here.
Caught up with close friend on the weekend who plays in Japan, he told me Owen Franks is now Japans scrum coach. Whether he’s retired or not I have no idea but to go in to a coaching role with another nation, it would lead you to believe so.

@Landers92 Yeah he was there for the start of the NZ Maori tour.

I hope some of this future potential coaching talent returns to NZ.
