Really good interview with Scott Hansen on Aotearoa rugby pod. Talks a lot about Hoskins in it

@Bones I think you should watch him more closely. Watch how much time he spends on the ground.

@Canes4life I didn’t know that. He’s an amazing athlete but just can’t stay on the field. Bloody good kid. He'll be an asset if he can get his body right.

Need a translation of log here - he spends too much time on the ground, ergo, lazy? No repeated efforts?

The pattern here is that it is better to be impactful off the bench then have a run of good starting games.

I think / hope Sititi will be very good, but his body of work is much more Frizell.

It’s worth remembering that Kaino was tried, failed (too loose) then came back a few years later. It doesn’t seem that Akira or Sotutu will get the chance.

TBF, Akira has had the chances. Whether he would have pushed on this year given another chance, we'll never know.

Sotutu a bit different and I think they've missed a trick here.

@antipodean can the penalty stats be broken down to what they were for?

I'm sure at SR/AB level they have that breakdown, but I just go off the publicly available ones.

I've watched him plenty close enough. Spends less time on the ground than Finau for sure. And is involved in the game almost 100% more than Blackadder.

It is notable how many "repeat" involvements Sititi has, but that's probably a bit easier when you're off the bench and/or doing less tight work.

Now that I think about it, ironically Sititi really reminds me of a young Sotutu, just without the wide passing or grubber game.

Funny to hear people say stuff (no one in particular on here) that Hoskins is a flat track bully that benefited from playing behind a great Blues pack this season. Does the poor bastard get no credit for being a big part of that? Besides, I could argue the same thing for a number of Canty and Auckland forwards over the years, who rode on the back of a superior pack, all the way into black

    Razor's great for internet providers

Still has a long way to go to overtake the guns n strippers, and the Middle East threads

Give it time. I haven’t even got started on the fact that Razor selected:

    Proctor over McLeod
    Tuipulotu over Strange
    Perofeta over Cameron
    Perenara over Roe
    Narawa over Sam Gilbert

Serious questions to be answered on what looks like a pattern of selection that I don’t even want to label.

Well he already accidentally selected Sititi instead of Sotutu, and now he has to act like it was his idea all along....

Sotutu showing his true colours with his instagram post. Suck up your non selection and be better.
. You’ve shown him he was right for not selecting you. Mentally weak

Crazy that people are now to the point of defending the decision of not selecting Sotutu and one of their main things to back up their point is using his instagram caption after winning a final and his apparent ‘mentally weak’ mindset when the guy dominated other elite professional athletes all season long.

It’s a fucking instagram caption. For all we know he’s referring to the Blues being the ‘most hated’. Yikes. I can’t believe what I’m reading on all platforms. It’s clear as day he was robbed of a spot in the 32 selected.

Hope he somehow makes it into the Rugby Championship 36 and continues to absolutely kill it(if he’s given the chance).
