I don't see our fullbacks as being a spot the opposition will worry about too much
He wasn’t good in the final, in fact he was the most ineffective Blues back on Saturday. Lam, Ioane and Plummer were the standouts. I’d be happier if they picked Plummer as a 10 and Beauden as a fullback. But Perofeta over Love is just baffling.
Leon McDonald tortured us with his shithouse Blues selections for 4 years & now we are forced to endure another 4...
Haven't we suffered enough....@Canes4life?
Hey man, I was on the Sotutu bandwagon aswell. Piss poor the fact he hasn't been selected. Having Blackadder and Jacobsen there fs it all up.
you realise that blackadder and jacobson arent picked as 8s
Yeah but picking both of them prevents us from picking a bigger 6 like Ioane which we need. Jacobsen is a player that isn't a stand out as a 7, 6 or 8 but he's a good rugby player. Is that enough though? I'm not sure.
the post was about sotutu and not being picked at 8
jacobson picked as a 7
Blackadder at 6
who would you pick at 6Finau first, and then Blackadder based on the selections. I thought Ioane did enough to surpass Blackadder but that's the way the cookie crumbles I guess. Hopefully the ABs can turn Finau into the new Collins/Kaino type player that we've been missing for a long time.
wait a minute you know agree with the loose forward selections
What? You asked me who I would select at 6 didn't you? I said 'based on the selections' I would go with Finau but also said Ioane should have been in the picture. Did you read my comment or just skim over it? What is everyone on tonight? Seriousl
reread the bolded bit.
I asked you who you would pick at 6
AI isnt available
remember all this was started because sotutu wasn't picked
lolAnd I responded. I said Finau based on the selections but doesn't mean I agree with it.
I will say this slowly
if you were picking the team who would you pick at 6I will say it slowly for you - if I was picking the team I would have picked Akira Ioane. I would have made sure he was told early enough in the season to ensure he didn't sign overseas. As Nzzp says, he only signed overseas because he knew he was out of the picture.

Ardie is a total energizer bunny workhorse who stood out even when we played shit.Sure - all that energy saved from not putting a hard shoulder on, leaning on rucks catching his breath.
Someone is butt hurt their golden boy didn’t make the ABs. Jog on.
Not my golden boy.
You know the criticisms are true because your only response is to go herp derp WR PoTY. Not the selection of dominant tackles preventing a team making metres. Not hitting rucks slowing down their ball.
You even admit we need to pick players to do the work he isn't. That's telling.
Yes he is.
Try to not be a child. I've just told you your assertion is incorrect and as proof I've been complaining about this for years.
Show me the stats that show Ardie didn’t make dominant tackles etc. you’re full of shit.
You're asking for stats for something that doesn't exist? Do you realize how unhinged that sounds?
Ask Eben Etzebeth what it’s like getting chucked around by Ardie if he doesn’t do the hard work like you say he does.
That's like praising Dean Mumm because he once ragdolled Marcel Coetzee.
You’re just a sheep echoing what other people are saying. Ardie is the hardest working player in the ABs apart from maybe Whitelock.
Remember when you said that we need to have a Kaino to permit Ardie to do his thing? If you're honest with yourself you'll recall Read was smashing blokes too...

You think Robertson told him so early in the season that he wasn't going to be in his All Blacks plans that he had enough time to arrange a contract in Japan?
I think he got the word towards the end of the season. Watch his leaving interview - he gives the strong impression of someone who doesn't want to go - but is making the rational financial choice.
Look, fair play, Razor and his boys get to choose their team. But they need to take accountability for that. I'd say Sotutu's off - you don't post that and hang about. he can't do more than this season, so if this isn't enough that'll be him done. It's a real shame.
Razor better win, and win well, and show us that his picks are solid. I would love to see them deveop players in camp (remember how flaky Coles was). But let's see. At the moment it looks a very red and black perspective on the world. Havili? Really?
I count two red n blacks in the starting pack (Codie and Scooter) and a possibility of one in the backs (Reece).
Then there’s potential for 2 on the bench (T Williams and Blackadder). An outside chance for a 3rd with Newell.
Bell is only real surprise but I’ve said they he wouldn’t be there if Sami T was fit. Bell was around the squad last year so obviously want to continue the development.

All I can really say is Razor wanted to be known as the coach who picked the best players...
Hold my bud light say Bell, Perofeta, Blackadder, Jacobsen and Tosi (who was on no-one's rader but the AB selectors it appears).
Feel sory for Sotutu, Plumber, Laki and Love - all of them deserve to be there.
Very odd we've only got 3 players covering 1st 5 and fullback.
This is what makes me laugh. Selection is a subjective exercise, it’s not about who’s deserving (whatever that means). Just who the coaches want in the side. And they get to justify it by what happens out on the field.
We don’t agree with certain selections that’s fine. We are fortunate enough to be able to argue about it online without fear or favour. But deserving? nah.
Someone asked about the selection process and one of the assistant’s gave us an insight into the process and the way they go about. I highly doubt they are using words like ‘deserve’ but rather here is the gameplan we will execute at set piece or off turnovers and these are the guys we need.
I thought on form they all deserved to be there above others picked.
Yes there are other potential measures that will results in certain players being picked over others. Unless you were an AB coach and developing the gameplan you would have no idea at all what these are.
Nor should you expect people posting on the internet to know what these are either.
You seem to be very upset about one word.
-
@Windows97 Nah not upset. Couldn’t be happier actually. The ABs have been named and I’m looking forward to watching them play.

Hurricanes openside Peter Lakai will train with the All Blacks as an emerging player but there was no room, either, for No 8 Brayden Iose to highlight the depth in Roberston’s specialist area.
“The toughest call,” Robertson said of the decision between Sititi and Sotutu.
“I thought hard and deep and challenged myself. I looked at all the reasons why I pick players and that’s where we fell. We believe Wallace is an incredible young talent. The harder the game the higher he rose in regards to his performance. He owned it. We’re really impressed but it’s a tough call.”

Tana and the dysfunctional Blues outfit didn't help him, Hansen didn't even try to coach him. He is a genuinely wasted talent.
Hansen clearly had issues with him but I thought Foster tried hard with Akira, managed to get him to tone down his dickhead-ness and got some decent performances out of him. I expected him to kick-on but that never happened - whether that was due to Ryan or something else like the loose 3 balance, we'll never know.
Def. a wasted talent though.

Read all my comments above. The proof is in the pudding. Everyone was praising Ardie last year because of his work ethic, he was at the top of the MOTM standings at the end of the year. (voted by people like you who always doubt him).
Ardie will always do his job, it's up to the ABs coaches to make sure our other loosies do theirs i.e. hitting rucks and making dominant tackles which Finau and Papali'i have the ability to do but need to show it at the next level. If they can there is nothing wrong with that balance so the whole argument about Ardie unbalancing things is just stupid.

We desperatly needed space for two foodbill's in blackadder and jacobsen and just couldn't fit in Sotutu and Sititi.

Finally you admit he doesn't hit rucks and make dominant tackles. You could've done that a number of posts ago.
