Hoskin's latest Instagram post says it all. Clearly not impressed with his non selection.

Gee - he looks considerably lanky for a test number 8.

Havili shouldn't even be cover IMO. I don't mind the Bower cover choice but the Havili call shits me. Surely there is more reliable or fresh talent to build up. A J Lam for example.

Couldn’t agree more. Anyone, just anyone. Lam, Higgins, Plummer, Tupaea, Poihipi, fuck I’d even say Dallas McLeod at this point. Havili has peaked and almost the gracious age of 30. Surely cover should be used to get promising talent in and around the environment?! But hey, Havili is well known to be a Razor favorite so it checks out.

Perofeta is interesting. I can't see why. Someone mentioned above he's been good the last couple of weeks, but then Leon said it was picked before the finals so...

I don't see our fullbacks as being a spot the opposition will worry about too much

He wasn’t good in the final, in fact he was the most ineffective Blues back on Saturday. Lam, Ioane and Plummer were the standouts. I’d be happier if they picked Plummer as a 10 and Beauden as a fullback. But Perofeta over Love is just baffling.

Leon McDonald tortured us with his shithouse Blues selections for 4 years & now we are forced to endure another 4...

    Haven't we suffered enough....@Canes4life?

Hey man, I was on the Sotutu bandwagon aswell. Piss poor the fact he hasn't been selected. Having Blackadder and Jacobsen there fs it all up.

@Canes4life Ardie's not the problem, but he was part of the problem. Pick Ardie, you need to pick specific players around him. Sam Cane is not htat player - he introduced other issues.

There's a goddamn long bow from 'he unbalances the trio' to 'drop him' - he would be insane coming on at 50. That said, he is a stopgap lineout (at best), so you're going to need to pick 1 or 2 tall timber to go with him. And some people who want to do the ruck hitting as well.

He's top tier, but he drives the loose trio in a particular direction.

What planet do you reside on bro?

Hoskins is a great attacking number 8, but has been proven ineffective at test level time and time again, he just is isn't effective on both sides of the ball, drifts in and out of matches and doesn't make a good enough impact on defense - almost like the description you were giving of Savea..

This was the All Blacks MOTM standings at the end of last year. Clearly people have short memories about Ardie completely killing it last year.

    18 Jordie Barrett
    17 Ardie Savea
    15 Mark Telea
    13 Scott Barrett
    13 Will Jordan
    11 Damian McKenzie
    11 Cam Roigard
    10 Brodie Retallick
    9 Aaron Smith
    8 Richie Mo'unga
    8 Shannon Frizell
    8 Leicester Fainga'anuku
    7 Rieko Iaone
    6 Sam Cane
    4 Sam Whitelock
    2 Ethan de Groot
    2 Codie Taylor
    2 Samipeni Finau
    1 Dalton Papali'i

when was Sotutu last in the ABs? Seems to be a better player defensively than before as well.
Edit: and he has a great linking game as well.

@nzzp Finau is a must at blindside given his size and lineout work.

@nostrildamus 2022 and he was the worst performing loose forward for the All Blacks that season, by a sizeable margin.

Like I said before, it's the coaches problem to figure that out. They need to select players that can work with Ardie, or better yet not get red carded when it matters most.

My point isn't how well he played in 2022 (and I'm not sure SF had blinders every test that year) I point is HS hasn't been tested internationally TWO FREAKING YEARS.

Oops caps lock. Oops not oops.

Because that's how you end up with a plodder like Frizzell

I ain't walking back shit. I don't believe Ardie should be locked in to the 8 jersey.

And yes caners he played differently in the RWC and we suffered. Because suddenly no one was playing anywhere but tight.

Well that's pretty obvious based on some of the comments on this thread.

You even quoted the following 'Ardie - played himself to an absolute standstill' which personifies the mans work-rate.

All I can really say is Razor wanted to be known as the coach who picked the best players...

Hold my bud light say Bell, Perofeta, Blackadder, Jacobsen and Tosi (who was on no-one's rader but the AB selectors it appears).

Feel sory for Sotutu, Plumber, Laki and Love - all of them deserve to be there.

Very odd we've only got 3 players covering 1st 5 and fullback.
