@MiketheSnow There's some talented but not yet fulfilled guys in there and a few that I really don't know much about at all. The second row is very much a who's that. What's the gen there? No Beard or Jenkins. Injuries?
Resting / trying new blood.
Screech is on notice. Not a great URC.

This is outside the window so a fair few unavailable for Boks, I guess?
SA policy to rest players I think
-
@Bones said in Springboks v Wales (Twickenam):
@MiketheSnow interesting to see Williams on the wing.
Screech has really grown up since my younger years too.
He's played there a few times.
Winnett is the future.
Exciting back three tbf.

That’s not a bad side. Loosies look especially good.
Springboks:
15 Aphelele Fassi, 14 Edwill van der Merwe, 13 Jesse Kriel, 12 Andre Esterhuizen, 11 Makazole Mapimpi, 10 Jordan Hendrikse, 9 Faf de Klerk, 8 Evan Roos, 7 Pieter-Steph du Toit (c), 6 Kwagga Smith, 5 Franco Mostert, 4 Eben Etzebeth, 3 Vincent Koch, 2 Malcolm Marx, 1 Ox Nche
Replacements: 16 Bongi Mbonambi, 17 Ntuthuko Mchunu, 18 Frans Malherbe, 19 Salmaan Moerat, 20 Ben-Jason Dixon, 21 Grant Williams, 22 Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, 23 Damian de AllendeSure it’s just a coincidence that Rassie’s named the same Captain as Washington 2018 along with:
13 Jesse Kriel, 12 André Esterhuizen, 11 Makazole Mapimpi, 6 Kwagga Smith, 5 Pieter-Steph du Toit (c), 1 Ox Nche
That's a really strong Bokke pack. Be interesting to see how Wales go against that.

Why is the game at Twickenham? (will also google)
edit:...google seem to suggest it was purely commercial which is disappointing

I guess people had to get sick of Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey eventually

Just kill the game now -
The TMO at Saturday's Wales v South Africa match will be given more power than ever before, it has been announced.
The trial will take place at Twickenham and will see the TMO handed greater influence, including the power to alert referees to knock-ons and forward passes in real time. Wales and South Africa, and Fiji and the Barbarians have all agreed to partake in the trial.
According to World Rugby, the aim is to provide “a technology-based solution to collectively make better and more accurate decisions”.
The live TMO referrals will be used when the on-field team has missed a clear and obvious incident/decision that does not need a formal referral.
Crucially the timeframes of when the TMO can get involved will change. Currently, the TMO is only allowed to highlight some incidents within two phases of a try being scored.
The TMO will now have the additional power to highlight clear and obvious infringements in the final passage of play (from the last restart) to the referee, including knock-ons and forward passes.Potential offsides and maul obstructions will remain under a two-phase limit.
The move comes after it was confirmed Wales v South Africa will also adopt World Rugby's law changes, which come into play officially from July 1.

Andre Esterhuizen destroyed Jordie Barrett last time they played.
113kg - that's huge for a center.
He's bigger than the Welsh locks 😬
We're going to get pummeled into oblivion.
Oh dear 🙄 -
@Daffy-Jaffy that's truly fucking idiotic. The game is getting worse every time they expand the remit of the TMO. Now it seems they're hell bent on removing the referee.

@Bones said in Springboks v Wales (Twickenam):
@Smuts that's a forward pack to crush anyone. Please tell me vdM is the little brother?
It’s my pleasure to tell you @Bones -
“vdM is the little brother?”
Always happy to oblige
when all that’s required is a few keystrokes and a complete disregard for accuracy, facts and logic. Hell, that’s what it takes to fit in round here.[edited out redundancy.]
