@KiwiMurph he did..."from the bench" slightly over simplifies things as theyer were mainly rotating through loosies opponent specific, but yea, he wasnt the regular starter at 6 when he made the AB's

...and not sure i agree he came good either, 1.5 good games isnt a good strike rate

@Canes4life I'm not suggesting Lio-Willie should bee in the AB squad, merely he was easily thier best, with Christie second. Christie is too limited IMO unless the coaches want a terrier on the field.

If I was picking, Lakai would easily get in the squad, as would Finau. Just depends on how many loose forwards they want. Two dedicated 8s, two 7s, a six and a 6/8 ?

    Ardie Savea - 100%
    Hoskins Sotutu - 100%
    Dalton Papali'i - 100%
    Peter Lakai - 100%
    Samipeni Finau - 100%
Ethan Blackadder - 100% (if fit)
    Luke Jacobson - 40%
    Christian Lio-Willie - 10%

Shows the benefit of being in a winning team eh

bro didn't Frizzell the lessor get the 6 jersey from your bench?

Was an incumbent already though. He did come good at the World Cup too

Pretty sure Frizell made the ABs from the Highlanders bench in first year - i.e. before he was an incumbent.

Not sure getting carded early in the World Cup Final is 'coming good'

Hey, he made one tackle and a few runs for less than 20m - Star!

To put it another way, the only difference in World Cup final stats between me and Shannon Frizzell is a single tackle. I'm doing okay

I agree, Lio-Willie was the Crusader's best loose forward this year and will be in the frame in the future.

@KiwiMurph He did, he got picked after about his 6th game for the Highlanders.

From memory, he scored 3 tries at Eden Park against a God awful Blues team which propelled him to higher honours.

@Mr-Fish A good effort. That looks about right.

I think Lakai will make it. I'm not sure Strange is a Test quality lock.

Can confirm for you that he definitely isn’t.

Realistically Jacobsen, Lakai and Iose should have more of a chance of making it on form, especially now Ioane is leaving.

Dont be silly! Tom Christie is ahead of all of them! He’s a Crusader 7!

AB XV - already better than Grace.

Sotutu also has a the problem of being a specialist.

Especially when the player he is competing with is the only certainty to start in the loose forward trio.

I think Grace will be in the All Blacks.

That’s not to say that I would pick him but I think two thirds of their best loose trio will make it, and it won’t include the best of the three.

My uncle overheard a convo Razor was having at a local Sumner cafe yesterday when he was ordering his coffee and he was talking about the Canes 7, 8 and 15 which we can all assume is Lakai, Iose and Love. My assumption is that he will be watching those guys with great intent on Saturday.

I was down in Chch for work a month ago and got to meet Razor in person. What a guy he is. We went for a walk one morning and he came flying by on his bike, gave my uncle a high five almost taking his arm off and had a quick chat, which he almost does with my uncle nearly every morning. My uncle isn't someone that bothers Razor too much but he gave me that feedback yesterday being a Canes supporter. Interesting indeed. He probably has three Chiefs players he'll be looking at closely on Saturday aswell.
