@Bones good to see Punivai getting another shot under the roof.
Me too, thought he went ok at Palmy last week.

@frugby can’t really see him having a stormer, especially up against arguably the best defensive centre in NZ. He rarely has good games in his preferred position. He’s the glaring weakness in that Landers backline and I’m sure the Canes will look to exploit that.

I only expect Lowe to play 40 - 50 minutes. With Timu to play the majority of the second half. A stormer for Lowe to me isn't making breaks. It will be making all his tackles, not being caught out of position and putting his wingers into space when the options arise. I wouldn't be aurprised if they try and put the ball behind the Canes line and have Lowe try to squeeze through. I also reckon we might see Tavatavanawai pop up at centre on attack and Lowe drift out to the wing.

I disagree. That wouldn't be a stormer, that would be Lowe doing an adequate job of a Super Rugby centre, something I'm almost certain he isn't capable of.
What there is every chance of though, is the Canes worrying about the threat out wide, and Lowe having enough pace to hit a line, and then make a good decision.

We are saying the same thing. He doesn't appear to have the skillset to deliver to what you'd expect of a centre at this level. So meeting the traditional expectations will have him exceed the expectations we have for him as fans, for this game, playing out of position.

Lol Wheeler saying the Canes were clunky against the Force last week. Ffs he obviously didn’t watch the game because 1. we played the Rebels and 2. we weren’t clunky. Do your prep man.
-
@Canes4life Joe Wheeler always talks down the North Island sides.
Too many southerners in the commentary box these days.
-
Jonah Lowe breaking the line haha. On ya lad
-
What a hit from Aumua.
-
Jeez the Canes look strong
-
Dog tucker defence from Lowe. Trying to scrag Naholo. Just what we want from our centre.
-
Canes breaking plenty of tackles already
-
To have a chance here. We need to make this a bit ugly.
-
Hurricanes mounting so much pressure on the Landers already.
-
Brayden Iose has been outstanding so far in this game.

That sums up Wheeler. Wrong on multiple levels.
