Pleasing thing is 4 batsmen have stood up so far Latham and Williamson did a great job batting against the new ball and the fresh Aussie quicks that 125 run partnership put a halt on a possible collapse.
Now backed up by Ravindra and Mitchell.
That is what I want to see some fight with the bat. It’s very promising so far. Another 150 runs and the pressure is fully back on Oz
We will have a real game if we can score another 150/180

I don't think Australia will be worried about having to chase 320. Pitch looks docile and it won't break up.
We need another 220+. I know historically it is hard to chase big scores on day 4 and 5, but I can't see it being an issue here.
nope 320 would not be easy Hagley will spin on the last day and half.
-
What's the bare minimum here? Surely we need to get atleast a lead of 250

@MN5 time for him to go, what other options do we have?
I genuinely have no idea. Hopefully someone else does.
His run of scores is just abysmal

@MN5 likewise, does Latham take the gloves?
Not if he is going to open the batting. That is unreasonable.

Yeah fairly sure it’s never been done consistently at test level. Alec Stewart always went down the order when he had the gloves as one example.

Dane Cleaver would probably be next in line as a pure wicket keeper, but Blundell probably has the slightly better first class record (although averages less) so probably not much of an upgrade.
Mitch Hay will be the keeper at some point in the future but probably a bit inexperienced at the moment (has played for NZA already though).

I don't believe it would be at all practical. You can't have a keeper concentrating and bending down all day in the field and then having to immediately start batting. It does not seem conducive to a good opening partnership.
Kuggelijn looks all at sea. He may as well swing at a few and hope to get some edges over slips.

He’s going ok. Having a swing and up to 29 very useful runs

He listened to me though I was not really being serious.
Up to 29 now. I don't want him to get out playing a stupid shot but he does seem to have a reasonable eye.
