Hopefully he is luring Bridge back.

Comment of 2024 (thus far)! 😂

Otoh, what if Razor does make some really unpopular selections like that? I mean, there are plenty of whacky crusaders ideas that didn't quite work at ABs level, but Razor might believe he can make those work.

@Victor-Meldrew As long as he stays away from the number 12 jumper...

Personality-wise, I think Razor comes across really well.
No cliched answers, and full of energy.
He mentioned individual load management rather than having a blanket rule for all players. Good idea.

Me too, and I was told to fuck off.
I hope we are treated equally.

Well Razor's got the courage to follow his own path and break the mould.
The guy has enough intelligence to realize that it's not beneficial to weaken SR by making wholesale changes to eligibility rules.

We have some serious talent still available even after the exodus.
    Roigard-DMac-JB-Ioane-Narawa-Telea-Jordan.
Personally I was surprised last year that DMac wasn't running the show as his form warranted it.
Need to find a couple of big no nonsense units for the front end and we are in business.

People still want to see Jordan moved to a more involved position after his delightful showing in the RWC final? It was just a culmination of all his "rugby issues", kid needs a lot of work.

    Be handy off the bench.

Just curious on others peoples thoughts on this. If Richie Came back after the Japanese season finished in May and played club rugby for Linwood do you think he should be able to be selected for ABs.
Me personally I think Razor is fishing for something or someone else.

Well of course he could, as long as he's contracted to NZR and not an overseas club, players can do that now, but just for 1 year.

@Punch_up so what if he did?

While playing rhe "what if" game, what if someone like Bridge did come back and he had honed his game and became an excellent test rugby player?

As above, I do like a little of the unknown right now, for the past dozen or so years we have been largely "by the book" and for about half of that period we didn't question it cos the results came.

@taniwharugby I agree with the general premise of shaking things up and looking at things differently.

However, i'm not sure Bridge is the best example.

He's about to turn 29 and has fundamental issues with his game that means he has a ceiling. Issues that are highly unlikely to be honed. One such issue is he lacks footwork which is why he had/has such an issue beating defenders. From memory towards the end even Razor wasn't selecting him in his top 15.

    @ploughboy

Yes all players in Nz who appeared at rwc weren’t to train pre Christmas with super squads. Lord and finau would have had their bronco/strength testing base with the chiefs for example.

Fucking pumped that the greatest coach in sport is coaching my team.

Good on him for ruffling a few feathers, including those of a few guys who post here.

I love the idea of him involving the whole New Zealand nation in his themes. The ambition and energy of this guy is something else. It's going to be a helluva a ride watching what he does with the All Blacks.

    In Razor we trust!

If he avoids getting broken, surely he'll be the ABs 9 a lot between now and the next RWC.

@KiwiMurph Bridge was used by someone else and I said "like" Bridge, not specifically Bridge.

@KiwiMurph yeah one thing that seemed fairly clear about Bridge was he had a great rugby brain, just didn't have the physical ability to keep up.

    Can relate.
