If we're discussing an incredibly average 12 as the answer to the AB 10 slot, then the argument that NZ rugby has all the cattle it needs is seriously fucked.

    Except we're not.

Then I'm another confused by the context.

So you also were reading a mystery conversation discussing an incredibly average twelve as the answer at ten? Seems those posts were deleted before I got to read them.

I think you read them Mrs Havili.

Nah I only saw one about Havili's chances of getting time at ten for the crusaders and responded to that. Feel free to repost the others for us though, Mr Knobjockey.

In a thread titled "All Blacks 2024", you quoted the following: Havili's best bet to get a starting place in the ABs is at 10.

Sorry been busy today and late to the argument.

So we’re happy with Havilli at 10 for the Crusaders as long as he’s no where near there for the ABs. Is that it ?

Yeah I'm generally more interested in see how a player plays before writing them off. It tends to make it easier to judge.

    Unless it's Zach Guildford.

Is he planning on a comeback ?

Hope Papalli get first crack at the number 7 jersey. Was watching the highlights from the end of year tour 2022 and he was immense. I wonder if it cost us with Fozzie not picking him and sticking with Cane as captain, red card aside? He was good in the Irish game but pretty average in every other game. Personally I think a backrow of Papalli, Savea and Blackadder would have got us across the line against the Boks, cards aside.

@Tim this is your kind of post.

As for Blackadder if he played the ABs would have won by 50. I don’t think that would be a great advertisement for the game so it’s a good thing Foster picked Frizzel to make things fair.

Lordy the legend of Blackadder is growing exponentially. What is he called now - Jesus Junior?
The irony is the ABs arguably played better with 14.

Especially if we selected two more opensides on the bench. Not even Rassie has the balls to select 5 opensides.

@Bones Savea plays 8 and Blackadder plays 6 for the Crusaders struggling to see where your 3 opensides come from? Just because they can play multiple positions doesn't mean their best position is not where they play for their club week in and week out.

Some written off players can change your mind. Tamaiti Williams was deemed hopeless after his performance for the AB XV against the Barbarians, when he struggled at scrum time. He is one of the most improved player I have ever seen in such a short time.

Come on man, no one was writing him off! If you were, you pulled the trigger almost before even loading the gun there.

    @Blunders

I think Papalii didn’t play well enough to unseat Cane in Super rugby this year.

I thought he would have kicked on after the autumn internationals in 2022 but he had a below par super campaign.

Whereas Cane was pretty good and Fosters guy.

Papalii at 7 gives us the size of a blindside so it helps more with the balance in the backrow.

More Ethan Blackadder hype lol. You'd think he was Michael Jones, Richie McCaw and Jerome Kaino rolled into one the way he seems to be a certainty in most people's lineups.

A bit of tenacious Josh Kronfeld and Duane Monkley in there too I reckon.
