RWC Final: All Blacks v Springboks

Where I’m at:
If win, bloody brilliant.
If we lose, it won’t hurt as much as if we’d lost in 1987, 2011 or 2015. Getting to the Final in such a competitive World Cup is an amazing achievement and better than I expected.
Going into this tournament, it felt to me like Ireland and France were the clear favourites, with the Boks, England and ourselves more like dark horses who needed a bit of luck to get over the line.
I still think we’ll need a bit more luck.

Boks are betting on rain.....
Yeah - slow the game down. Don't play wide. Kick and smother.
I wonder if that team changes with the weather on the day?
In which case, why take the risk of not having a specialist halfback who can kick and pass in wet conditions? Plus, you're taking your best kick-chaser out of the game by moving him to halfback, and probably also taking away your kicking game given kicking from the base is not one of his core skills.
I just don't understand it, which makes me very worried.

Maybe I have forgotten what it's like to be young, but jeez it's hard to imagine RM going from limping like that to being fit to play - especially given his strength is his agility and acceleration. Looked like his kicking leg too.

Pretty sure that video was from a few weeks ago.

@Frank Rassie always produce something exciting for us. They worked since 2018 for this final. Expect the unexpected.
I don't think you understand my meaning.
I don't mean something "exciting".
I mean Bok forwards being pulled off by the coaching staff, pretending it is for an HIA assessment when really it is to give them a rest and bring them back on later when they are "cleared".
Which I suspect is what happened against France.
I think @OomPB understood you perfectly.
As he said - Rassie always produces something exciting for Bok fansWill be exciting if Wayne Barnes punishes them for it on the pitch. But I guess that won't happen if it is within the rules.
And to be fair, if our coach was coming up with smart moves, I'd probably be right behind him.
The thing with Rassie is that he stays within the laws as they stand at that time.
He just finds ways to try and get an advantage within those rules all the time. It may not be as the rule was intended, but it is still within the rules.
If WR doesn't like it - as in the "waterboy" scenario - then they must change the rules.
But if he is not breaking any rules at the time, the ref can't interfere. You think it’s not against the rules to fake HIAs?

I agree with you. Off to have a sulphuric acid shower.

My take: Want us to win but if SA win they'll be worthy champions and I'll applaud them.

Back to back World Cups, in a highly competitive era of international Rugby, would be an enormous achievement.

Looks like BBBR to start and Sami T joining Tamaiti and Nepo on bench. They won scrum penalty at end of Mt. Smart. Want Scooter packing behind TW as much as possible.

Yeah that video was before one of the pool matches
Thank god for that... Just watcvhed a Justin Marshal preview and he reckons RM is the key... He plays well we win, he doesn't we lose. So got a bit worried when I saw the video.

The BBC thinks Ardie Savea is closing in on greatness:
Good read.
He would thoroughly deserve it IMHO. They win on Saturday and he must be odds on.
