    Think we'll win

Think it will be close as we'll be flat after today, and we'll labour through it. Argentina will be more energetic

I think Telea will be the only change unless there is an injury.

    Probably.

A 6 day turnaround and some older players put in big shifts. Will depend on niggles

One option might be to go for a 6/2 split. That would give the option of getting certain forwards off the field if things are going well. Would be hard on Dmac though who didn't even sub on today

It’s on Friday night so there is a tight turn around.

Hopefully, no one will miss curfew again so the coaches should have a full squad to chose from.

I think this will be another tough game. But the ABs will narrowly win.

Psychologically, this is a tough one for the ABs.

Hopefully, all they focus on is getting back up for the Argentina game.

Showing the team past episodes of us crashing out to a less fancied teams would help.

Ioane is still a huge worry for me. World Cups are won with defence and he missed 5 out of 13 tackles against Ireland, covered up by outstanding defence by almost everyone else.

@Frank France at Twickenham 99, Australia at Sydney 03, France at Cardiff 07 and England at Yokohama in 19.

Let those (especially France 99) be our warnings against any complacency this week.

    You should stuff them

Calling boys v men in the tight and you won’t drop the ball and/or make the wrong choices like we did yesterday

Jordan and Telea to get a hatful each

Will be the second consecutive week the Haka will get drowned out by the crowd after watching the Argies turn up against Wales, hopefully the same result follows though.

Make no mistake NZ might find it hard to back up with the same intensity after last night, they gave their all out there. We should win but can’t go in expecting to win.

This all sounds like Blackadder should be in the 23.

    Telea back on the wing?

And Roigard on the bench. Horses for courses. 😉

We have some receipts for Argentina too, but my concern is that we can't get up enough for the game.

Honestly speaking that game today would be worthy of a WC final (I'll bet tomorrow's QF will be the same), and although I fucking hate some of the Irish players and ex-kiwis, they are the best (or next-best) team going around.

Our challenge will be to get bodies and minds right for next week without thinking about the fucking mountain to climb the following week if we are successful.

I would put Telea back in - our left edge was a huge fucking weakness.

We might want to start Whitelock and bring Scott Barrett off the bench. We could switch Paps and a starting loosie if required.

Whoever they plan to play as the back-up props, hooker, & HB in a potential final have to be on the bench. It's time for consistency, whether we agree with the selections or not.

Roigard, DMac and Blackadder need to be involved. The question is who do we rest?

Maybe keep Frizzell on ice, do we protect A Smith and does BB come off the pine?

    My team would be:

    1. De Groot
    2. Taylor
    3. Lomax
    4. Barrett
    5. Whitelock (keep Rettalick fresher for the final by bringing him off the pine)
    6. Blackadder (keep Frizzell fresh for the final)
    7. Cane
    8. Savea
    9. Smith
    10. Mo’unga
    11. Fainganuku
    12. Barrett
    13. Ioane
    14. Jordan
    15. DMac (Beaudy off the pine)
    16. Coles
    17. Williams
    18. Newell
    19. Rettalick
    20. Papali’i
    21. Roigard
    22. Barrett
    23. Leinert-Brown

Think it’s pretty pointless trying to pick a team until the bodies recover in a day or 2. Plenty of folk deserve a rest (JB, AS etc), but there could be niggles to deal with.

Ideally we start a full strength side, and have clear air to give the reserves a run, especially the backs who didn’t get a trot today

I think it would be risky to make any changes thinking about the final. We need to front up with our best side and use our bench a little different.

I'd be surprised to see Blackadder start. If Foz was to make a change to starters it would be probably be Jacobson in. Blackadder a possible option on the bench in a 6/2

Depends on how Nugget is physically, but expect Roigard on the bench with some minutes. The thinking about Christie's selection for defence hopefully won't count in this game.

    Why? Horse for courses??

As much as I want Roigard to be there, I also want Foster to commit to a reserve 9 - and if that’s Christie, then he should be on the bench again this week ahead of the (touch wood) final
