RWC Week 4: All Blacks v Italy
-
@Canes4life I actually think it will, Clarke fully fit now and Beauden and Talea a lock in , not sure on Jordan ? He didn't train on Friday
-
@Canes4life I wouldn't be so sure - for some reason Foz loves Clarke

didn't you hear? he's next Lomu

I was a wee bit concerned after the French game but I think it'll be a pretty easy win. But I'd be shitting bricks if it was any of the other 6N teams.

playing a couple of left wingers?
Telea can play 11 but was usually at 14 during SR
shows how much SR I watched...
edit, think he also played at 14 v Scotland (with CC at 11)
He also played 14 vs England the next week
I'll keep quiet then

Barrett,Talea, Reiko, Barrett, Clarke, Ritchie, Smith,Ardie, Cane (Papalili), Frizzell, Brodie, Scott, Nepo, Taylor, Ofa

@Rancid-Schnitzel I’m always nervous pre the big games just the level fluctuates or ebbs depending on the opposition. Italy would have previously been lower range but with Wallabies poor results, and we only just beat them in the lead up games this year, and our poor discipline of late it’s gone up a notch or two. Am hoping a strong win of course , they can do it, but ….please Lord no red cards!

@Kiwiwomble maybe you should read what I said again, slowly?
Fullback tool box:
Pace
Long kicking game
Short kicking game
Passing game
Eye for a gapSure he isn't quite as quick as he was, but still pretty quick, he has those other skills, but something just isn't clicking for him, nor has it for a while, not least consistently anyway.

it was a tongue in cheek comment mate....but thats not what you said, you said he's not executing well in a number of aspects, if you think he has a good short and long kicking game, a good pass and can still hit a gap...what are the aspects you think hes not executing well?
I would also say he's lost more than a yard of pace....several comment from the game last week about how slow he seems
-
@Kiwiwomble I said he still has the tools, just his execution is off...not sure whats different about that or you are arguing about.
He is off his game, he may never get back on it, but currently, he stlil has the tools to do the job
-
@taniwharugby the difference for me is in my mind the only ones that have the tools are the ones that are using them....if your not doing shit on game day....then you cant say you can do it

On flip side Cane and Lomax not, which isn’t really a surprise. Tamaiti will be on bench because Newell and Lomax don’t play LH.

Well, you know what, plenty of folk have been complaining about this RWC - minnows not developing, long gaps between games etc. All fair points.
BUT, we just saw a great game that will leave Fiji likely to make a QF, and All Blacks fans are rightfully very nervous about putting away a punchy Italian side. As M4L said somewhere, all of the QF's will be proper contests.
Surely this is what it's all about???
I can't wait for this game. I expect us to win and win well - but could the Italians secure a BP and leave us vulnerable to some Rainbow Warrior-level skullduggery? Maybe!
Will 5 Seconds of Summer Shannon return at full fitness and wreak havoc in the way only he can? Who knows!
Will Foster authorise the team to open the snuff box and use a little of the powder that lies within, or will we have to wait another week to see that against the unsuspecting Irish?
So much to look forward to!
