RWC Week 2: England v Japan
-
A pretty predictable Borthwick selection bearing in mind Farrell is out. Billy V is clearly in the driving seat despite having zero form for England over the past God knows how many years. We’ll run Itoje into the ground and signal our attacking intent on picking kick chasers on the wings.

What a prize prick

I dunno mate. He’s just saying the same as many of us that there seems to be little consistency or transparency. He didn’t say they (World Rugby) were wrong re Farrell, just that they were all over it but silent now. Hard to argue with any of that. As you know, I’m no Borthwick fanboy either.

Perhaps it was my interpretation

They were all over it because it was a judicial error, and they can appeal that. That's the only way WR can get involved in. They can give guidance to refs, but once it's in the game, not like they call up the TMO and give instructions. He's talking mostly arse, wilfully ignorant of how it works. There also was not a 'tremendous amount of comment from WR about Farrell', they released a statement saying they were appealing the decision which was manifestly wrong, that's it. WR were correct, and Farrell got the correct resort, if not the correct sentenced for a serial offender. Borthwick is being a winey tit

No, but it's all part of the mind games. Trying to make refs subconsciously favour poor England. All the good coaches do it, foster not so much
Note I'm half English, married to an Englishwoman, lived and served there, and they are my second team.

You will note that I did say that Borthwick was not saying WR got it wrong over Farrel and nor was I. If anything, IMO, he ended up getting off lightly. What he DOES say is that there is a lack of clarity and consistency around this particular issue. Perhaps bringing the Farrell incident into the discussion makes him look a whiney tit and perhaps he is trying mind games, but the gist of what he is saying is much the same as many coaches and any number of people on here have been saying.

He could have left Farrell out of it and used Curry instead
Then everyone would see he was talking about this RWC
-
He flat out lied "I also note there was a tremendous amount of comment from World Rugby about Owen Farrell over a couple of weeks during our preparation for this tournament, a situation that went on and on, and there were lots of comments from World Rugby." That was what makes me think he is being a twat

Come on Japan
-
England flopping and sealing off at first two rucks

Georgian was dire when he arrived the scene. Most improved ref.

Agreed, need to back themselves as they are breaking through the line.
-
Why is there this fascination with kicking inside the 22?
Such low return
-
Earl was lucky there

England should be doing what Australia should have done
Kick it long, kick it dead
