Enduring memories include being in a pub in surry Hills after the Scotland v Fiji game
And every Scots supporter just raving about Rupeni
I saw that one live at Aussie stadium. Pretty handy living five minutes away. He was untouchable.
Luckily the other 14 Scots were a bit better than their opposite numbers and got in the quarters vs Oz the week after.
Living in Sydney was bloody good fun, can’t believe it’s been 20 years !!!!!

I think probably a try today but not back then. Much more stringent then.
Correct call then, correct call now

Most of the sides at the 2003 RWC tried to play a bit and score tries. There was lots of entertaining Rugby.
By 2007 it was much more about kicking from hand and defence. Lots of the games were arm-wrestles.
Cycles in playing styles, coaching but particularly law variations.
Usually as a result of one team learning to play the laws better than the others.
Making no comment on who that one team generally was ...

Downward pressure = try.
The knock on was after that
Not part of the definition since whenever.
"Downward Pressure" is a bit like "the referee is the sole judge of fact and law".
It was in the laws for some long people just can't let it go.

I watched the opening ceremony and game but have never seen the final.
I did go to the two AB pool games in Melbourne. I even had a brief chat to a couple of ABs while walking around the city.
