@KiwiMurph Form is temporary. Class is permanent.
Turning this back to Eddie Jones one might well rather say: contracts are temporary. Being an arse is permanent.

We are getting close to a best team, whether it is good enough or not, not sure.
I’d probably prefer us to have a bit more from our props (looking at you Nepo) and I feel like our best squad likely has Williams and Ofa (TH) off the bench.
If we put Dmac on the bench, we’d have a nice balance where we only need to make one change for almost all positions (Dmac could even cover wing potentially).
Props and Hooker done
Lock: Done
Loosie: Done (Jacobson)
HB: Done
First five: Done (Dmac)
Midfield: Done (ALB)
FB: Done (Dmac)And, the bench should have some punch if we ran with that.

Did Eddie really say this ?
I found this on the internet but the internet isn’t always true
Yes. He said that.
Eddie has jumped the shark. It's no longer getting indignant over.
Lost his mojo.

They’re not being subtle, they’re going to take us on upfront, try to stop the AB gain line, flood the breakdown to mess up our ball. They’ve got the personnel to do it, will be interesting to watch.
Sounds similar to the game plan for RWC 03 Semi Final. That day he targeted Jerry Collins as he was the primary ball carrier. I wonder if Frizell is in for similar treatment on Saturday.
he was the ONLY ball carrier in the team. Nothing else in the pack, nothing in the backline. As physically an unimposing team as you can put together.
Roko whilst green had been a try scoring machine and beating defenders at will. Mils at centre and Rangi at fullback and I think that lineup plays better.
Speed merchants skinning dudes out wide we had in spades.
We needed to pull guys in out wide and we couldn't -

There's so much talent in that Wallaby team although am not sure if Tom Hooper is quick enough to be a 7.
Our whole forward pack lacks speed and accuracy at the breakdown. Might as well throw pure size at the problem.
It won't help.
It's their lack of cohesion and picking a couple of players with very little match fitness that will count against them this weekend.
Well that, and the yawning gulf in general fitness, skill, and physicality...

You’re missing the imposing and dynamic Reuben “Suitcase” Thorne..

Of course, I don't know why Bitchell and your boy Dean's didn't put Mils at 12 when they copied the rest of the Blues games plan that year.
Probably would have done better with a possibly not quite fit Tana as @gt12 alludes to.

We only move fullbacks to centre in RWC’s, we haven’t gone the full hog and move them to 2nd 5…

Mils played a bit of 13 for the blues that year as well when they went for the option of having all of dougie rok and rupeni on the field at the same time .
I can remember them saying they thought the back 3 had been such a weapon on counter attack they didn’t want to break it up, ended up being a mute point, wallabies didn’t kick it to them anyway.

3 games to the RWC and we haven't seen Leicester, Stevenson, McCleod or Finau.
Leicester = injured, Stevenson = not in squad, McLeod = really only there to cover ALB missing, Finau = cruelled by the fact Frizzle learned how to beat up on the field as well as in clubs.
We will see Leicester in Dunedin if recovered, might see Finau (rest Frizzle/Jacobsen shits the bed) but if ALB goes well we won't see McLeod, def won't see Stevenson

It only makes sense to me if they see Jordan as the back up fb .
Then it becomes alb midfield cover , Clarke back 3 cover .
And if that’s the case , it’s unfortunate narewa and leister are unavailable , narewa would be the better choice for me because he plays right , less disruption .

Eddie vs All Blacks as head coach
Team Years Wins Losses Draws Wallabies 2001-2005 5 6 0 Japan 2012-2015 0 1 0 England 2016-2022 1 1 1 Overall 2001-2022 6 8 1 Is gotta be one of the best percentages ever

Interesting to compare both 2003 and 2019. Both times we simply got beaten up by a much more physical and direct side. We also got all clever with selections (Mortlock vs Rangi was rape). Both times it was that sinking feeling that we were getting squeezed to death and were clueless and powerless to stop it.
While IMHO every Bled game is a potential banana skin I think the ABs are in pretty good shape for this one and the forwards in particular look far sharper under Ryan. Who knows what Eddie has in his bag of di..tricks , but at least this time I can't see us getting beaten up.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel although IMO the 2003 test was lost on the back of that TMO decision, had that try been awarded, that loss would unlikely have occurred.
