Wouldn't mind seeing Ardie rested for one.. Give Luke a go.

We know what Ardie can do and we know he will start come RWC. Maybe one game on the pine?

Can be injected into the mix if we are in the shit.

If I’m selecting, I’m probably starting RM for DM, given that this is 90% likely to be my 10 for the business end of the season. I’m keeping 12/13, but I’m happy to switch CC for LF and also Narawa for Jordan/SS if fit.

Everyone here seems to be on board with Narawa having a blinder last week, but I can’t say I was that impressed. He looked solid, and it was a nice finish for his try, but he didn’t look super-explosive to me, it was hardly shades of Joe Rok or Rupeni - he didn’t gas anyone or do anything stupendous. High bar I’m setting I know, but I just didn’t see anything that would make me think he has leapfrogged any of the other more established guys

I thought BB did enough to cement his spot for another week too, he’ll get the same favourite treatment as RM this year I reckon

    Spot on, I think.

In regard to Richie and DMac, it would be a pretty hard sell for Fozzie to tell Richie - "You're our incumbent, but we're going to give DMac first go and if he goes well, we'll give him the next game as well to see if he can unseat you - but, if he's a bit shit then, You're Our Man! We've got complete confidence in you!"

I reckon that game was a test to check DMac is their number 2.

Beauden is a bit different - he's the incumbent getting a shot to lock himself in and I'm pretty sure they really want him to. They've never given Jordan a run at 15, so I'm pretty sure they'll be reluctant to move him now - though that's not impossible, because WJ hasn't been available since Jordie took over at 12. Anyway - Beaudy didn't shit the bed vs the Argies so I'm pretty confident he'll get the 15 jersey again vs SA.

On Lord - I haven't seen much of him - he looked a lot like a young Ian Jones running around out there.

Will they look at Telea on the left wing?

Hopefully. I don't see why any of the others couldn't play on the left to be honest.

Boks will be a better measure of where we are. What I'm going to be looking for:

Better exits. (Not talking about the DMac charge-down as Nugget slipped and the pass was wayward). It's the one area which is still as bad as ever and it isn't rocket science.

Same level of discipline and focus as in Mendoza but for longer. Great in the first half but we got a bit wobbly in the 2nd half and that has cost us games against good sides in the past. Forwards especially - been a big improvement particularly in set pieces and thought Cane/Frizell/Ardie went well so just the last 10% to go....

Better bench options/tactics. Vail was OK but Paps & RM coming on didn't work for me and they are good players so Foster & co need to work on that. Christie has regressed so take a punt on Roigard.

Re-think the kicks to the wings. Whether it's execution or tactics, I'm not convinced it's working....and there's too much of it.

Keep the same 10/12/13 combination. They really clicked. OK, it's only one game but that's the most solid looking partnership I've seen for some time. See how they go against the Old Enemy.

I think there'll be minimal changes to the team - BBBR for Lord, Sami T, changes on the wing and a few on the bench like ALB.

@Victor-Meldrew Don't think ALB will be available until the Bledisloe.

Poss. depends on who they think is the best bench option. RM didn't work for me coming on in the last 20 and they may want to work on that.

I thought vaai was excellent off the bench especially in the lineouts

    Did he get some steals?

    IIRC he got two steals.

    If so, that's excellent.

Big forward pack, almost a completely different Starting 15 that played the Aussies last week.

Apart from the locks I think last week's Boks starting 15 looked more threatening than this one. This week's bench looks far better though.

Fook Mi, outside of those at the end of those lists (15 past it really, 22 23 very raw) that is one scary 23! The step up is IMMENSE for ABs
EDIT Sorry and 10, not that great compared to the rest 😉

Pretty happy with the team, I thought that there was going to be far more rotation in the front row and that Kriel would get another undeserved cap.

I'm still unsure about going into a test like this without recognized goalkicker in the starring 15, but hey what do I know.

    Ps - fuck Jasper Wiese
