Beauden at 15.
That will go down well
This will be DMac’s 3rd test starting at 1st 5. And with a midfield combination that he has never played with…

Predictable team. Not chuffed with the selection of BB and the two Blues props on the bench but I think they want to give some of the SR finalists an extra week off to recover, especially a guy like Williams who has had a huge workload this year. Looks like Stevenson will not get an opportunity to prove himself which is a shame as this was the game to do it.
Happy to see Lord at lock and DMac at 10. Roigard better be selected for the Bok test, Christie is so meh.

No BBBR! And what happens if Jordie crocked?
Finally get to see Ardie at 12!
What an underwhelming side, almost looks like some newbies being set up for failure...

That is a bit weird. Ennor?

No debuts for Stevenson or Roigard.
Forwards not great, props and Barrett aside.
Foster was always going to select BB at Fullback.
I didn’t think that was going to happen when Fozzie announced that everyone in the squad was travelling to Mendoza.
Happy to see Lord starting.
Just a little bit worried about our set piece defence if they attack down that left side and we have a defensive formation of Ioane/Clarke/Beauden. Yet to see that work at test level.
-
Gee, wasn't expecting that selection. A mix of new & new-ish guys (Lord, Narawa) and the old guard (BB & Clarke). Narawa not a surprise as Foster pegged him a few months back as a bolter but a second row without SW or BBBR was a surprise, at least SB will be able to lead I guess.
My only thoughts on Clarke and BB is hoping Foster is giving them a chance to shine. Possibly one last one.

Nah, throw 'em in the deep end.....
But seriously I'm Ok with the newbs as there's enough experience there.

We are down 3 2nd 5s - ALB, Havili and QT.
Ioane has played some 12 in his time so I guess he’s the back up.

Possibly, although as ACT Crusader* has pointed out, Rieko has played there.
-
@Victor-Meldrew thing is, a lot of that experience is not exactly the experience that is in top form.

Irrational conservatism

Loooool
Shit we have some average "elite" players these days
-
Well fuck. I know I said I expected BBBR or SW would be rested, but I did expect to see ONE of them on the bench at least. And if I have to suffer a Frizzle, then Paps, Cane and Ardie better play their arses off. Pleased for Narawa and Lord. Christie is still ginga. Meh.
