Final: Chiefs v Crusaders

Even with only a yellow card, ALB started the rot with that enthusiastic but dumb arse tackle.
Surprised he wasn’t HIA’d also, the head impact looked similar for both players

The long forward pass was right in front of me. Gardner seemed asleep. The TMO needs to do their job and not just pick and choose when to intervene.
TMO can't come in for those calls any more. (I think.)
Unless there had been a try scored they can suggest there is a check maybe

Great final. I am disappointed the Crusaders won obviously but the Chiefs only had themselves to blame with the tone set early with ALB, who should have seen red. Would have been interesting to see how the game would have played out if the refs had made that decision. Still some immense efforts on both sides including the return of Sam Whitelock who is still NZ's premier lock who disrupted the Chiefs line out frequently
Well done Crusaders

And in this case there was a stoppage (lineout).

You know on reflection of the game, and last few games of season, I would argue that Scott Barrett is close to best rugby player in the country this year. He has been immense!
Will ad in Narawa we got a pretty good right wing too in ABs too!Totally agree about both players. Scott has a big engine and competes on every play. Narawa has that top end speed that gives players extra time but seems so well balanced in his all round game.
great workrate, good kicking, mops up other players' messes, always makes metres, and very solid in the tackle!
Like a smaller faster Ben Smith but on the wing! -

@kev defensively he was a machine and playing like a 4th loosie. A little quieter in attack and that is in large part to a very good defensive system that McMillan runs. But he was still well involved carting the ball up.
Agree. Thought he played well. Great work rate. Just maybe not the 9 - which he would have got for some of his earlier games where he ran through tacklers at will.

Disgraceful feral fluffybunnies
Yep, and likely the very same people who booed through the speeches and presentations. And sent me abusive DMs here on the fern. Feral as fuck.
Who did that? You don’t have to put up with that shit?
Crusaders were good for it. Always felt as though we never got control of fame despite being in front at times.
Good season all the same for the Chiefs.

Even I got offensive DMs.
I thought it was amusing that someone would take the trouble to send me abuse.
I presume it was alcohol related.

I gave one 7 days rest for not understanding sport.

Has anyone mentioned how Nankivell's pass to Stevenson at 42:13, in the same play as the Narawa try, went forward out of the hands and floated a metre forward? Right at 3:00 in this video, pretty clear if you click on the cog to slow it down.
Winza win.

The pass was marginal but would rarely (or never) be deemed as a forward pass

Big reffing error if right. Also the forward pass that was missed
*27th minute – Yellow card to Chiefs’ Luke Jacobson
With the Crusaders charging 10 metres from the tryline, Chiefs No 8 Jacobson went hunting for a relieving turnover.Only thing was, O’Keeffe believed he wasn’t adequately supporting his body weight at the ruck, and, having already warned co-captain Sam Cane about his side’s discipline, the ref had no hesitation in pulling out a yellow card for repeated infringements.
While that team warning had come back at the 13-minute mark, the fact the offence was committed close to the line, and there had already been a yellow card against the Chiefs as well, escalated the sanction.
Looking back at it, though, the hosts could feel hard done by, with Jacobson seemingly in good body position, and it was tough to see the left hand on the ground helping him that O’Keeffe had described.
It was a big moment, with the Crusaders, 10-3 down at the time, duly profiting from the resulting lineout, then going over again while Jacobson was still in the bin.*
34th minute – Missed Crusaders forward pass
