Good Cambridge boy. Would have grown up supporting them. Chiefs no1 halfback is goooooone. A much better opportunity to win a championship in 2024. Makes sense.
After losing the final maybe not.
Still unsure how we landed Roigard but he's thriving in the canes environment so would be silly to return to a team that didn't rate him. And Canes with a top coach will be contenders. So sign for another 2 year and see how it goes.
Living in Wellington, it always makes my life better if the Canes are shit. So I'm always looking at ways to drag them down haha. Roigard can do whatever he wants. His future is completely in his hands.

I'm sure the Chiefs rated him, but Ratima was the NZ U20s halfback when they were essentially choosing between the two of them. Also, remember Roigard only made the Canes initially due to an injury to Booth.

That's Roigard, Cameron or Barrett. If Cameron goes anywhere else he will officially go into suitcase territory.

@Winger How long have you been on the Fern?
Most don't do this. Although you did recently. I just find this I've got a big secret but I'm not telling behaviour a bit strange.
As long as it's not Roigard or Cameron. Or our other ABs. There are other key players too. Canes need to hold onto most of the team but expect some who are not starters to consider their options.

@Winger If you'd read other threads, you'd know that a move by Mafileo is one of the strongest rumours in the Blues thread, whether true or not.
Maybe that's why PRS re-signed. We will find it all out soon enough
Sullivan is signed but he's someone who might try to find another team. Likewise PUJ who isn't signed. Both will likely only start due to injuries. But both are good players. Highlanders would for one welcome both

Barrett is signed for 2024. Cameron is a manawatu man and is a certain canes starter. He isn't elsewhere except for the highlanders. Roigard would be silly to move as he thriving at the Canes.
Can't see these three leaving as canes are entering an exciting period with a VG team

@SouthernMann I don’t think there’s much more opportunity to win a championship. This young Canes team is maturing and the Chiefs cocked up a big chance to win a championship. Who knows I guess time will tell, I just hope it isn’t Roigard, Love, or Proctor.
If Barrett leaves so be it, we have Higgins coming through who will be a better second five eventually anyway.

Where there is a will there is a way. If a player wants to leave. There is no point standing in their way. I'm sure Roigard grew up with a cowbell above his bed. Jeez that Chiefs team would be shithot with him involved.

@SouthernMann he wouldn’t be an All Black right now though if it wasn’t for the Canes. I think Roigard leaving would hurt as much as when Barrett left purely because he’s quite obviously a long term AB and he just looks absolutely class.
