The line speed was considerably quicker from the Crusaders last night than what they had shown throughout the regular season, and the Blues couldn't cope with it. I don't know why most NZ teams, including the ABs are so reluctant to employ a full on rush D system. It's clearly the best way to defend atm.

@akan004 disipline? To get it right, you need really good disipline, somethign we have struggled a bit with in the past few years.

The Irish line is so impressive, all up in line, if they are a foot or so off side, it isnt always picked up as they are all up together.

I am looking forward to when Razor does a book. I think he will really give the All Blacks even more of a presence on the global stage, he has that kind of personality. I think the Aussies will be kicking themselves that they couldn't sign him, probably the English as well.

I can honestly say I can't remember a team getting so soundly at the contact area, Crusaders hit everything hard whether it was tackle or ruck/mauls, and Blues looked gun shy to me.

Once again perplexing tactics from MacDonald, having two loose forwards out wide when the Crusaders game is breakdown domination...

Bryce Heem didn't help his chances..what was BB doing during the LF try at 47 min? Looked like he was taking a dog for a slow run, RI looked like he tripped, I'm not quite sure what happened to the rest of the backline either..

Bryce Heem has no chances. You have to be a true Blue fan to think that a guy that has bounced around clubs looking pretty average is suddenly going to make the ABs based on one season.

He's 34 for goodness sake, so not even an investment in the future.

Proctor, Nankivell and the Umaga-Jensens are all well in front of him. Guys who are least well enough regarded to have played for NZ XVs in recent years.

@Chester-Draws great call, the UJs are having astounding careers and Heem hasn't even made NZXV.

It's hard to think of a Blues player who did. The backs especially got cut up quite badly.

I've been wondering what the AB selectors would be thinking about Jack Goodhue this year and thinking he wouldn't have played enough - but, now I'm thinking they might well pick him.

Five midfielders? Jordie, Rieko, Jack, ALB and Braydon? Pretty consistent with what they've picked previously.

@Chris-B was thinking the same with Goodhue and ALB thought their time out with injury would count against them but they are both playing good rugby and I hope they both are in the mix

@Chester-Draws Bryce Heems a hell of nice bloke but to me he was never gping to wear an All Black jersey with great respect ,i suspect if PUG and Quinn Tupaea were’nt injured last year i doubt wether he would have toured with the NZ XV

This reeks of a Foster selection tactic.
