I did not watch the game. How did the big Chiefs back row fare ? Parker must be the heaviest open side flanker in SR.
Wasn't a stand-out but did finish the match as the top tackler with 26/26.
Wow, shows how someone can go under the radar if they don’t do any show out plays.
If he was doing that work it probably freed Finau and NAK up a bit

Parker isn't a 7 so was never going to play like a traditional openside. The workrate of the loosies was excellent though.
I've got to add that Tahuriorangi was very good in his 50th game. He might have a SR future yet.

Strong all round from Chiefs. Stevenson looked a bit casual and made a few errors so needs to sharpen up again but always an attacking threat. Hoping Thompson and Ratima focus on accuracy as both energetic but make unforced errors. Poihipi ALB Ah Kuoi Finau Parker Norris and TTT all had a great match. Coombes Fabling played well too. I would prefer he and Poihipi off bench next week.
I guess focus into finals will be on reducing error rates that give opposition attacking opportunities. Defence is great but too much in own 22 risks cards. -

I expect Poihipi and Ioane to be the back reserves, unless Nankivell can't play. Then Poihipi slots in at 2nd 5 to partner ALB. Rona could be in the 23 jersey then.

And sums up why we not always good selecting off tv screens. I always think anyone who wants to see how good players are watch them live. Sam Cane is one who always springs to mind for that too.

There's definite influence from commentators. Even if you avoid the hyping or overcalling for excitement, you do notice when a players has their name called. I didn't hear Parker being called much at all. Maybe the commentary team didn't know his name?

They seemed to only call a few players. I spent fucking ages trying to work out who was ten because they didn't say Poihipi's name for about twenty minutes or something.

Phone was on the balcony hosting my VPN and WiFi so I could watch on my tablet...I was more interested in watching it to find out than scrolling through the thread 😁
It's tough here in Crete.

Poor bastard.

@Crucial Mind you, I don't recall commentators hardly ever calling tghe tackler's name anyway, or someone who has done grunt work, ie climbing of ground repeatedly. They do on odd occasion, and to be fair to them you can't name everyone involved while play is in motion.

True but this bloke made 20 tackles and you hardly heard his name.
