Katoa is meant to be the next big thing in the NRL. He says he wants to be an All Black. He is born in NZ and 19 years old.
Seeing the 10 stocks in NZ, I'd be throwing coin.
Sounds like another NRL player looking to up his worth? What's his history?
Doesn't appear to want to be a NZer for league purposes (plays for Tonga and presumably will play Origin).

@Nepia Neither did Brad Thorn. He has represented Tonga in League. Does Kalyn Ponga still have the option to try his hand at union? He was talking about wanting a crack, not sure if his new contract would allow it.
He has serious concussion problems. Not sure he's worth the risk.
-
Katoa I doubt even really interested and even if he was I doubt he would make a decent rugby player from what I have seen from Dolphins matches (admittedly few games)
NAS wanted by Eddie but will stay with the Storm
Ponga has talent but gets concussed every five minutes and I would be surprised if he finishes this season -

@cgrant Laulala is playing some of the best rugby of his career. Williams has done what?
Didn't you see him destroy the Reds scrum last week ? He also have very good hands and makes the hard yards. Oh, and he can tackle.

So Laulala has suddenly become more mobile this season? How did that happen?
this season? he was a whipping boy 3 weeks ago!
-
Laulala is playing the best rugby of his career... around the park... because he occasionally gets off the ground and runs with the impact of George Bridge.
He's also a rock at scrum time, one of those rocks that gets penalised way too much for the reputation of being a master scrummager.
-
@bayimports Sounds like NAS could get an extension with Storm another three years. Have heard that. A lot of people would be pretty pissed if he played for the Wallabies.

@bayimports he’s 19 years old with a shit team around him including no experienced halves. He was great in the World Cup for Tonga when he was 18 or 19?
He was school sports captain, dux etc. Came through the Panthers system but they have Cleary and Luai.
If it’s taking a punt on Katoa or picking Mitch Hunt for the All Blacks I know who I’d go for

I would say with Ryan as forwards coach and Blackadder already having played under Foster that he is well in the mix
Id say his name is already in the squad. He seems to have a great attitude. I always know he is playing in the game unlike Akira and Shannon.
He has Allblack written all over him. He just IS an Allblack.
I remember Will Greenwood waxing lyrical about him on UK TV two years ago. Apparently behind the scenes he is rated seriously highly.
Akira and Shannon are too last time I checked.
forget about those two wastrels.

Huh? The Dolphins have a decent squad and a good coach, he has experienced halves around him too, just one of them is fat and out of form, and the other one is a rocks and diamonds player.

@Nepia they don’t have a good squad at all. They’ve punched well above their weight in the first few weeks.
You have to realise just to how great the other nrl squads are. Most of them are past or before their best
I said decent not good, but, it's not a shit squad.

@Yeahtheboys said in All Blacks 2023:
@Nepia it’s 17th best out of 17 teams
I bet you they wont come 17th out of 17 teams.

To anyone who believes @Stargazer bullshit about making stuff up
There’s the link to the article
So where in that article does it say that Katoa will be playing for the Blues after the World Cup (i.e. 2024)?
