Hurricanes v Western Force

Devan Flanders injured in Hurricanes training on Friday and has been replaced by TK Howden. Wellington’s Hugo Plummer comes onto the bench.
-
@Canes4life Bugger. What kind of injury/how bad?

Cramp.

Typically the Canes haven’t said what injury occurred but I’m surprised they’ve called up Plummer, who despite being an up and coming lock only managed limited mins for the Lions this year.
Players on rest must not be able to be called upon.

Who would they call up. IWL could be if he's not injured I guess. Ardie I think must be rested this week

Who would they call up
Walker-Leawere, Lakai etc.
Plummer is a lock so he’s not necessarily a like for like replacement for Flanders.
-
@Canes4life lakais in the team. Maybe IWL is injured

Then why are you suggesting IWL? He's a lock, too.

Oh he is too.
Yeah not sure, maybe has a niggle and due to big mins they might not want to risk him.
On Plummer, he is a very accurate player and shouldn’t let the jersey down but he also hasn’t had too much pro experience. Will be interested to see how he gets on.

IWL is a player that could easily jump in at 6 if needed and is already in the squad. Would have made more sense than calling in a complete rookie like Plummer. But if he’s got a niggle then I guess that isn’t an option.
This is why it’s painful that the Canes don’t update us on injuries. It would be great to know the extent of injuries to guys like Delany and Sangster who would usually have been playing instead of someone like Plummer.

In Palmy! On behalf of all other NZs, I'd like to apologize to the Force payers.

@KiwiMurph absolutely, would have been a a whole lot of yellow seats had this been played in the capital, I apologise on behalf on rugby watchers for the yellow empty seats
