@booboo Men's pools A and D are considerably stronger than the other two, and the top two teams of both of these pools will face each other in the QFs. Australia and France will be happy. Only the USA is able to throw a spanner in the works.

    @booboo To me, it's inconclusive.

Watch the slow-mo reply, ball clearly punched out of her hand, the Aussie girl got all ball and didn't hit Millers hands at all.

Also, it was Stacey who saved Miller here as she got over the ball after the Aussie girl scooped it up earned the penalty which Hirini quickly tapped and went over unopposed as the Aussies were caught napping.

A question on Stacey, she was Waaka until married, then went with Fluhler. In Hamilton she went with Waaka-Fluhler to honour her family. Next tournament at Sydney she was back with Fluhler and now, two weeks later, she's Waaka.

    Separated from her husband maybe?

No idea on the latter. I follow her insta and have seen her do a lot by herself recently but hey, if she wants to keep it her business then fair enough.

Forget the ref debate on this call. One of the good things about 7s is that calls are made quickly and accepted. Play the whistle.

From a still as opposed to the slomo video? I think you might be in a minority.

Not worth debating because Hirini scored immediately, but I think the ref missed that.

What did the ref miss though? It went backwards. Play on.

@ACT-Crusader If the Aussie slapped the ball out of Miller's hands, it went forward for the Aussie. The ref said it went backward, because he saw it as Miller dropping the ball. Anyway, as Hirni scored, it fortunatley didn't matter for the result.

Watching it live I just thought Miller dropped it cold so because it went backwards play on.

@Stargazer that suuuuucks, we don't have another player like him in the team, reminds me of Chris Masoe.

New players are Rhodes Featherstone and Xavier Tito–Harris

XTH has been looking sharp on the wing for the Blues u20's

Does anyone know much about Featherstone?

He is tall and full of energy - a flanker. Should have been in the team before this from what I have seen.

Cody Vai to continue the family tradition. He wasn't in the original squad list, but this would have been why he didn't play in the last Chiefs U20 game.

I watched some of the AB 7s game at HT. It's wet in HK. They beat Kenya 29-5 with Vai scoring with his first touch of the ball. The BF 7s beat HK 50-0 earlier.

Haven't anything of the sevens yet, but the BF7s beat GB 43 - 0 in their second game.
