Mentions in press that Sevu Reece's knee injury may be a season ender. Not sure if that is just Super Season but that door in the outside back RWC squad has just opened a little.
Bit of a shame for SR if true, but wing is the one position I'm more relaxed about with Telea & Stevenson coming thru.

hude chance for Tela
I would say pretty easy to argue Telea had already gone past Reece. Reece has the advantage though, of being able to at a pinch cover fullback and centre
-
@Bones my moneys on Telea. Hes the most dangerous runner in NZ rugby imo and Reece? Hmm I will always remember him doing jack all in our loss to England in the last world cup. I know it was years ago but i was scared for life 🤷🏽♂️

@Machpants roigard is about 8th on list need alot of injuries his time will come tho
8th? Lol what are you on about? Roigard is right up there as one of the form halfbacks in New Zealand atm. Ruling him out this early is completely bonkers.
-
Apart from perhaps an outside back (2015 Milner-Skudder)or an injury-forced situation (2015 Moody), no untested player is going to the world cup I'd predict. Roigard and co. time starts from 2024.

@Canes4life he won't b at world cup but his time will come if Razor sees it like u and others
Just few good games won't get him there -

Just few good games won't get him thereThing is that he is going past 'a few good games'. He is showing consistency week in week out and, more importantly, throughout time on field from opening to being subbed.
Fakatava for example has been hot and cold. Some good stuff, some average.
If I was a selector the thing I would notice most is the consistent high performance and no flat patches during games. -
@Crucial yes ok I'm just saying I do like him but they will only take 3 locked in all 3 unless injuries just like seevu he probably out of contention so gives Stephenson great chance and will Jordan hearing probably gone for not all but most season at this stage so rule him out also but the hooking role will b very interesting

@Crucial plus fakatava has an injury cloud over him, not like he currently has a niggle...but having just come back and having chosen not to have surgery...i feel its kind of in the back of the mind
Not to say that by season end he won't be firing on all cylinders. though.
If he is then there will be some real decisions to be made.
One thing about Smith, Christie and Weber is that they are from a similar mould. Smaller, fast, but don't have a line crack that often.
Fakatava offers difference in that you can never give him a tiny space because he might have you backpedalling. Probably a bit more robust in contact as well. Roigard and Ratima sit somewhere between the two. Both have an eye for a chance.
As a selector do you want like for like replacements to keep gameplans consistent or do you want to mix things up? -

All these "I no things, but can't say' posts. Just say it man. You don't have to divulge sauce.

Christie and Weber
these 2 offer a running game that Aaron doesnt, well at least doesnt use very much, so much of our play is so easy to defend because his next play is most often easy to read; pass it or kick it
