That is not foul play! Guy braced himself. Fuck that’s crap.
He ran into a guy's head, elbow and shoulder first. Hard to come up with a more clear red card.
If he'd just carried on with a legal tackle then no problems
I dunno. No doubt you played rugby too but I reckon he just braced himself. I’ll have to look again. I wish they’d do super rugby and give him 10. Then the tmo can calmly review. But the tmo today is the worst in the business.
the ball was bouncing, it was a green knock on. Keenan recovers it and is ducked down. steward if anything is pulling out of it and turning away.
the contention that he ran and jumped into Keenan shoulder first to "do him" is completely disingenuous.
Watch it in full speed.
The ball is dropped milliseconds before the hit, don't use that as an excuse for a reckless and dangerous hit
And the bit in bold isn't even anything anyone thought. You're arguing against no one.

I have no idea what this means, braced himself for what? What did he think he was going to be doing when running fast at the other player, a somersault over him but he got distracted by the ball?
I had thought he was lining him up on defence, but maybe I'm wrong if I've never played rugby.
Lowe knocked it on and Steward is trying to abandon smashing him.
Rob Kearney on Irish TV saying not a red.

Well the ex Irish fullback on Irish tv is saying its not even a card. He is saying Steward is trying to get out of the way. Thats why he is side on.

The game is an absolute joke. World rugby need to sort this out.
Bouncing ball. braced himself . turned away.
Im fucking sick of the sport at this stage.
World rugby didn't make Steward run into a guy's head, leading with his shoulder and elbow, don't be absurd.
give over. watch it at full speed.
Oh yeah I'll turn off my slow mo vision, thanks. At full speed, Steward ran into the Irish player while standing upright and led with the elbow. Same in slow mo.
led with the elbow? Never.
Leading with the elbow is being square on and smashing a bloke in a mock fend.
He is bracing himself. He is not leading with anything. His elbow is by his side.

He could have carried on with the tackle he was going to make, but by the looks of things that might still have ended up high.
He didn't have to brace himself by throwing his shoulder/elbow out.
Needs to work on technique and not get given excuses to flatten another player's face.

you're speaking about it in a matter of fact way, which gives no colour to what actually happened.
May not like it any more than you, but the point is players at this level know that sort of stuff will almost always bring a card if head contact takes place.

Maybe you haven’t played rugby in which case I give you a pass.
I played for the Eastbourne under 9s.

But what is he supposed to do? His elbow is by his side. His arm is not extended.

Make a fucken legal tackle! Take the impact! Dive! Anything but the most reckless possible action.

I would say the same back, I mean the contact was square on the elbow.

Do the least dangerous thing which is least likely to mean a card.

@Victor-Meldrew yeah I mean what was his intention before the ball went to ground? Pretty sure it wasn't what he ended up doing, so a bizarre decision.
