Does anyone else think the pass to Le Roux was forward? Looked a bit Michalak-like.

It was passed forward. Whereas the last pass went forward but was passed back.

    No doubt Rassie will clarify!

Go look at 15s into that clip and how Green 14 moves directly toward the receiver, then moves out of the line, right into the path of the defender.

Steward's reaction showed he wasn't happy. It was subtle but I certainly noticed it. This demonstrates the randomness of the TMO interventions.

    @pakman not at all.

    Suparugby
    "Leb’s Talk by Neil Kalify

Twickenham silenced by a high Spirited 14 man Bok side.

Boks outplayed the English in all facets of the game with excellent performers from starters and finishes barring the red card, with Arendse's and Willemse skillsets showing their worth.

The focus for me is on the hard and solid work laid down and when the red card was implemented, back onto the field came Jozua Francois Malherbe and in my opinion one of the better tightheads South-Africa has produced .

The question is has any loosehead really challenged the 1.9 metre 125 kg at set piece. No, Not really and that's why he is so important to the Boks and with unnoticed work rate with his carrying and cleaning Ruck abilities aswell.

A Paarl Boys high Product who made his debut in 2013 against Wales and continues to impress week after week nearing his 60 "th international cap.

His contribution to South Africa is immense in both styles that the Boks are now playing and understands his primary Role aswell as his role after set piece in both attack and defence."

The only size that matter on a rugby field is the size of the heart.

I look forward to facing the 90 kg Bok locks with "big hearts" in the future then.

@nostrildamus PSdT grand dad "Piet Spiere" was one of the Springboks strongest THs. Played in 1960 against the All Blacks

Piet-Spiere du Toit : Doc Craven
I once had a letter from a parent who told me that his son was playing first team as a flank, but believed he should be a frontranker as he was very strong and had been doing special exercises. Would I please take a look at him? He was a first-year student at Stellenbosch at the time and the season was about to start.

I walked down to where the under-19's were having a practice game and asked the coach: "Do you have a Du Toit here?" and he said: "Yes".

I asked him in which position he was playing and the coach told me he was in the front row. "That's where I want to see him" I said and watched for a while.

"We have two Springboks here, that prop and his hooker," I said afterwards. Those two were Piet du Toit and Abie Malan, and together they went - all the way from under-19 to the Springbok team.

Piet "Spiere" du Toit was one of the strongest men to represent the Springboks in the front row. He did not look all that strong but, by gad, he was incredible."

Hempies du Toit toured in 1981. Also a strong TH.

It’s great to hear such stories about the rugby genes being passed on through the generations.

“ McLean, whose 1963 tour account "Willie Away" -- named for the line-out peel-off move borrowed from the French and perfected by Whineray -- may represent the peak of his own unique contribution to New Zealand rugby culture as he wrote: "I would unhesitatingly name him as New Zealand's greatest captain."

He also earned his place in the roll of great rugby one-liners, stunning rugged Bok prop Piet du Toit, notorious for testing the outer limits of scrummaging legality, by asking: "Do you have to spoil every match you play in?"

    Indeed.

It's serves as a reminder that it's not our fault that we didn't have the physical gifts to represent our respective countries.

It's the fault of our useless fucking grandparents, we never stood a chance!

@Catogrande the 1981 Boks to NZ have great rugby genes. Producing Boks like Schalk Burger, FvdMerwe, Andries Bekker, Ruaan Pienaar and Claasen son playing for France.

No, but I found Arendse's running line back toward Willemse interesting.

Have seen more innocent attempts penalised.

I think it was a brilliant line because it was just barely enough to hinder the would-be tackler while not enough for most refs to penalise. Weak defence by that lesbian in the English 10 shirt, mind

Agreed. A very clever line and I didn't notice that at all at the time. Steward really should have made something of that to bring it to the ref's notice, no point in waving your arms about afterwards.

A bit unfair on Smith's defence. He's not the first to be turned inside out by a full speed Allendse and I'll bet he won't be the last.
