@Daffy-Jaffy hah I was gonna say I thought Arundell was an odd call - the try was a cracker though.

This is all small fry compared to the major outrage here.
21 years or these men's awards and there has never been a single nomination for a prop. If that's not discrimination against our bigger boned brethren, I don't know what is.
0/109 nominations for props 2001-2022
Prop = 0
Hooker = 5
Lock = 10
Flanker = 25
No 8 = 10
Scrum-half = 11
Fly-half = 19
Centre = 14
Wing = 9
Fullback = 6I’ve not seen a line out maul try nominated for Try of the Year either.
Funny how WR want to hand out awards for exciting running rugby scores yet run the game so that the most productive scoring option is from a maul. -
Lol what a complete joke these Awards are.
These awards should be fan voted, too much Northern bias.
-
@Canes4life With fan votes you get even more Northern bias, if only because there'd be many more people voting from the NH. Fan voting is per definition biased and if there's more than one player from a country, that would split the votes, too, and possibly result in a player from another country winning.

Something needs to change because the uproar on social media and the comments on the World Rugby page show that even supporters of other nations were shocked the likes of Ardie weren't nominated.
World Rugby are fast losing respect from their fans and it's hurting the game IMO.

There's plenty of examples over the years where the best player hasn't won this award. But to deny Fluhler a spot is fucking ludicrous.
