Excited for Telea.
Yeah. From what I've seen he's one of those under-rated, solid, minimal-mistakes player with a high work rate. Hope he gets the opportunity to grab his chance

Congrats to Telea. I hope they pass him the ball.
The Blues backs won't even have the opportunity to pass if DH keeps getting tackled and monstered with the ball
He did pretty well at Ellis Park. I also think the Foster Co op wanted to give ALB a start which makes an awful lot of sense. Wouldn't be surprised to see Jordie partnering ALB in midfield as they'll want to have a good look at that combination as well.
I'm pleased the second-stringers (such as they are) are being given a start as the game time will be invaluable as near RWC2023
Yes that is true. And I want him to do well. Smart player, I just don't know if he can lock down 12 (and whether that is his best position).
Edited my post to say that they may seem DH/ALB as the no.2 combo and want to see how that goes. I actually think a a fit ALB is arguably the best midfielder we have.
I don't have any major complaints about the lineup or DH I was just lightheartedly defending the blues against ACT-Crusader!
Yes I like ALB, I just hope he can settle into one position long-term, being good at 12 or 13 is good for the ABs but not so good career-wise for him. So who do you think the best midfield combos are likely to be? It makes more sense to me that they have regular rotating pairs rather than rotate individuals like ALB between 12 and 13.

Down to a scrap between Reiko & ALB for 13. Different players and happy to have both but Reiko has looks to have the top slot - just need to work on his organisation.
Pretty sure we'll see B at 12 against England and that will be the acid test

Congrats to Telea, hope he impresses. I have wanted to see how LF and Telea would work together on the wings for a while now. Although would have preferred Harmon and A Aumua as the bench options to provide impact. Understand why JB moved to FB. Don't like it but understand why.

Ronan O'Gara interviewed in yesterday's "The Times' expressed the view that he thought it best to start with a banger (e.g. Danty/Kerevi) and in last 20/30 bring on a second playmaker.
Which would translate into Jordie starting at 12 and Havili on bench, probably with ALB. Then DH on at 60.
Options: RM stays; RM off, BB to 10 and JB to 15; Same but ALB on for Rieko; OR same but Rieko to wing.
Offers a lot of tactical flexibility.

Surely this would have been an ideal game to play Asafo Aumua off the bench. I think it’s rather pointless having Taylor on the bench, we already know what he can do at this level.

Already enough changes, so was a trial too far.

Why not drop him to the All Blacks XVs then? Surely he’s deserving of some game time, somewhere because I doubt he’ll be in the 23 against England.

I like the balls to the wall thinking of "hey we've lost to Wales before, so we'll play the second stringers against Scotland eh?". Nothing like a new record to round off the year.

Love the change in narrative. I'll play. Too many average Blues players. At least the "average" Crusaders players have won something
I reckon it will be OK. That tight five will keep the pasty haggis eaters at bay. All good! -
Well they better hope for no injuries in 2023 and/or (more) dips in form to either ST and CT, as they have hitched their wagon, come hell or high water.

Just to completely stress people out, I'ma say ST is not gonna get injured. Ultimate professional and hard as nails.

Nice tribute from the All Blacks to have the most Scottish looking guy in either team starting at halfback.
Signalling a clear intention to not give anything away.
It’s a shame Angus MacDonald doesn’t play anymore
