Just watched another replay of that Maxwell hit and he is a very lucky boy. He copped a sharp shortish ball that was rising and it slightly hit his glove/handle and went into his neck when he slightly turned his head.

@ARHS This time last year I was wondering if Pringle was on a path to eventual Black Caps honours.
I've since wondered if he'd decided on the Netherlands early on, or whether he made a pragmatic decision about his chances when the Netherlands came knocking. Either way, I guess I was surprised at the time the news broke.

@Donsteppa Felt to me like his Dad was plotting a fast-track career path all along. The change to being a spinner surprised me but worked. It would seem that they used mum's heritage to get Tim as many opportunities against higher class opposition as soon as possible. Not sure he would have got same so quickly by staying here in BOP. Hitting Ashwin for 6 first ball made me smile. The 19 year old in Dutch team looks good too. I do hope that these second tier cricket nations will keep getting more competitive.

Can they still change from Tier 2 to Tier 1?

Yes, no stand down period for him to change 'up' to a team he already qualifies for.

Zimbabwe beating Pakistan shows that anyone can beat anyone in T20s. And they were one of the favourites.
Pakistan rely very heavily on Babar Azam. If he doesn't fire they tend to struggle. I'd be interested to see stats where if he scores less than 15, how often to Pakistan actually win? Azam is some player but the rest of their lineup is a bit fragile in comparison other than Rizwan who appears to be a T20 specialist.

Aha, the move makes a lot more sense to me now.

@Donsteppa ironically Sydney is not raining, so we should at least play tomorrow and hopefully put a gap on the rest

The weather is ugly. It’s not only raining but it’s turned cold too. I’m not sure the players will be charging out of the sheds to play

So if England vs Aus is abandoned this will help us no?
