From his reaction I would guess now that Taylor will be his first choice starting hooker on the Northern hemisphere tour.

That seems a rather long bow you are drawing.

My guess is that he was a bit closer to understanding Taylor's 'problems' and his battles to regain form. He was pleased for him.

or he's just a forwards coach that loves one of the fatties getting over the line and....or thats a normal reaction to a try by someone who loves some code and hasn't become jaded yet.....both just as if not more likely i would think

After the initial euphoria of Jason Ryan getting the forwards going better I think there is some worrying signs developing.

Firstly this the selection that he was seemingly behind of the All Black 15. Dominant Gardener shouldn't make a Crusaders first choice 23 how the hell he got selected in this team is beyond me and can only be bias from Ryan.

Secondly I went back and watched the highlights of the Eden Park Wallaby game. And something I didn't notice at the time was the massive celebration by Ryan (compared to the other 2 coaches) when Cody Taylor scored his try. From his reaction I would guess now that Taylor will be his first choice starting hooker on the Northern hemisphere tour. This would be a huge injustice to the form of Samisoni Taukei'aho and will blunt the All Black forward's ability to out muscle the Northern hemisphere packs.

People forget that Scott Robertson was in charge of the Crusaders and the primary selector and Ryan was more just a coach. With the All Blacks due to Foster's incompetence Ryan has been thrust into more of a selectorial role which I don't think he has the experience to handle yet.

Even though the changes in assistant coach have reaped some initial positive reward I can see troubles ahead once the honeymoon Is over and it all comes down to Foster still being there when he should have been replaced by Scott Robertson.

I think we both agree Kennedy was shot by CIA operatives from the grassy knoll.

A bit damming, they have short attention spans according to McLeod, and have to be constantly reminded of defence patterns/ideas.

As an educator, if one or two of the students don't understand, generally, it is not the explanation/content. If most or all of the students have trouble, then that is entirely on me and the shithouse way I have explained things.......

Was thinking the same thing. The Crusaders and Blues defence structures were pretty decent in SR,with a lot of the same players in those environments,It seems to me he is high lighting his own deficiencies.

Does this mean Stevenson is into the AB XV? Guess it depends how long Telea is called up for.

If Tima is still touring with Tonga the reason must be more personal.

Whitelock en route to join All Blacks in Japan

Whitelock en route to join All Blacks in Japan

All Blacks lock Sam Whitelock flew out of Christchurch on Wednesday morning to join the side in Japan, but it is a fair guess he will avoid trampolines during the All Blacks' northern hemisphere tour.

Anyone know if the Japan match is being shown outside of NZ ie in UK?

Everything I’ve seen indicates it’s not being shown.
