Well played, Napier. This game deserved a draw and shared title. Hamilton had all the possession and territory, but were full of mistakes. Napier made their few chances count and their defence was immense. One little mistake cost them the title.

First preseason game I've heard about:

    Sat 25 March 2023 - 11.30am - Massey Uni
Palmerston North BHS v Lindisfarne College

    Haven't seen a line-up for Lindisfarne (yet).

I don't recognise many names in that line-up. Partially, that is because it's a new team which seems to have lost a lot of players who have left school, and partially because HBHS didn't post any line-ups last year, so I don't what were the younger players in 2022.

Kyan Lowe is Karl Lowe's eldest son; Daniel Toala is Danny Toala's younger brother; Monte Timu used to go to Lindisfarne and is a younger brother of Star Timu. Some other names are vaguely familiar.

I haven't been able to find the result of the Hastings Boys v St Kent's game.

    There's a bit of news.

    • As posted in the general 2023 School Rugby thread, Napier Boys' will compete at the Sanix World Rugby Youth Tournament, which takes place from 25 April to 7 May 2023 in Fukuoka, Japan.

    • St John's College 1st XV is going on an Austrialia tour in July 2023.
This will be the squad for that tour.

I wonder whether Harry Campbell is a younger brother of halfback Brad Campbell?

And another Penitito; that family keeps on producing players.
