Jazz is too complicated for the average bear but their are some good catchy stuff like:
The better I become as a musician, the more I like (good) jazz.
Saying you’re a good muso is such a “jazz” thing.

Robin Williams was never that funny. (1 in 10 jokes landed)
Nick Cave is pretentious as fuck.
Friends was weak American comedy, still is American comedy, and will always be weak American comedy.
John Cleese has not even been mildly funny since A Fish Called Wanda.
British gameshows with comedians on them generally add up to way less than the sum of their parts.
-
Totally agree. Actually liked him alot as a dramatic actor but was painfully unfunny sometimes.
-
No shit.
-
Nail on head. Some scenes are genuinely funny but God so much shit. That Phoebe was so crap.
-
Probably. Couldn't tell you what he's been in since other than that pitiful zoo film. I think he may have voiced a Shrek film as well.
-
Disagree. Some absolute crackers.
Joey was good value. Chandler was too on occasion. Ross was just a dick ( and actually not a nice person either ? )
Monica and Rachel at least had the hot thing going and they had their moments. Couldn’t agree more about Phoebe, I think I’d rather have my fingernails ripped out than catch up with my friends and listen to her sing in a cafe.

I didn't say I was good, just that I was getting better.

Same thing. I bet you hit “wrong” notes and blame all the guys you’re jamming with

I call that bit jazz.
Actually that reminded me the first time I tried drumming, and the guitarist who was much, much better at keeping time than I was (and was probably half my weight) was so incensed I thought he was going to hit me.
-
1- wasn’t a fan of his movie acting but I grew up with Mork and Mindy and liked that
2- no comment
3- Friends, never really got into it and what I’ve see I couldn’t stand it
4- Clease is a bit hit and miss
5- don’t really watch any, but what little I’ve seen they seem a little hohum -

Nobody does jazz like these guys

My understanding is that David Schwimmer (Ross) was the one that got equal pay for all the actors and their big paychecks so I assume they all love him. My wife loves the show so plenty of friends references in our playful dialogue.

How I met your mother was a superior show using a similar format. But Friends' impact on popular culture was greater

I could take or leave Robin Williams
Off the top of my head, cant think of anything Nick Cave has done (although I am sure I have heard plenty of his stuff)
I liked Friends.
Loved Fish called Wanda
I like plenty of British comedies, although linking to the previous one, Fawlty Towers was average -

This album is a good one for some accessible jazz
Lester Nygard has gone hipster
But wait, there's more!

@scribe I would give that two upvotes if I could. Jazz. Niiice.
You misspelled Jaaaazz.

Robin Williams
- Never thought he was funny
- Just an early version of Jim Carrey. Screwing up one's face and making funny voices - does not a comic make.
Nick Cave
- Pretentious - yes - but not sure it's a particularly hot take... pretty much been his persona, with the Bad Seeds at least,
- But - fucking good. I get that some people don't like his music, but...
- One of the best live performers I've ever seen
- Somehow, he takes one of his "dirges", and transforms it into a stadium anthem. I fucking like his stuff, but still don't understand how he does that
Friends
- Again - I don't think any dislike of this is a particularly hot take
- It is the epitomy of mainstream low-risk low-reward US sitcom
- It is the Butter Chicken of sitcoms.
John Cleese
- Not sure I've seen, heard of, definitely not paid any attention to - any of his stuff since Wanda
- So - happy to take the Fern consensus, and not go searching for any of it
British Comedy Panel-Shows
- Have I Got News For You - is terrible. Only ever redeemed by getting somebody amusing as a guest host.
- Most of the others - I actually enjoy. Sure - they're a bit hit-and-miss, which one would expect due to the format.
- Mock The Week is vastly funnier than HIGNFY for "current events"
- 8 out of 10 Cats was good, and 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown works surprisingly well mostly (except for the "wacky skits")
- Would I Lie To You was usually good - especially whenever Bob Mortimer was involved. The fucking anecdotes that guy has.
- TaskMaster - had its moments.
- Oh - and I was going to say I really miss Never Mind the Buzzcocks - but see they've revived it. Sweet.

The Butter Chicken of sitcoms - that's very good mate 👏

@Machpants I won’t ask how you even new that existed 😀
Reeves and Mortimer, now there's a guarantee of satisfaction

I’m speaking ill of the dead I know but I could never stand this kinda shit from Robin Williams.
But still, he was better at what he did than Nick Cave.
