@Canes4life Should’ve just came to the game cold enough 😂
Had a baby girl last week so that wouldn’t please the Mrs if I went to the game. Give me a couple weeks haha
Is it your first?

@Winger we’ve been unbeaten with Aiden Morgan starting. I’m really liking his work atm, hope he continues that form into the Canes season.
Would love to see a Canes backline of:
9. Roigard 10. Morgan 11. Sullivan 12. Barrett 13. Higgins 14. Moorby 15. Love -

@Canes4life Congratulations mate you never realise how much your life changes with them in your life but saying that definitely you definitely wouldn’t give them up for anything.

I’d just like to give a shout out to DMac for all the shit I gave him. He still went around and took photos and signed autographs. He was about to go down the tunnel but I managed to get him to take a photo with my 9 year old son who absolutely loves him.

Cheers mate. Despite the long nights and lack of sleep over the last few weeks it’s all well worth it. Have really enjoyed being a father so far.
She’s been a good luck charm aswell. Since she was born Wellington have won and defended the shield, and the All Black’s have seemed to have found their mojo again. All is good right now. 😁
On the Shield game yesterday Lakai and Higgins were my obvious standouts, however I’m really loving the play making axis of Morgan and Love. They are really growing together as a unit and controlling games nicely with their dual kicking game. I’ve got a feeling we are going to see a lot of the Love, Morgan and Higgins trio for years to come.
The dark horse performance for me though was PJ Sheck, he won his battle with Ayden Johnstone in a last minute change for Pek Cowan before kick-off. That scrummaging performance might net him Alex Fidow’s contract at the Canes for next year.

Sheck has been good coming on to replace Cowan so wasn't overly concerned where Cowan wasn't starting. Our LH replacement is poor so Numia must stay fit if they want to do well in the finals.
Just looked up Shecks details. Height 1.90 Weight 116. Age Born 10-3-2000. so still only 22. Hope Cowan come back though as Sheck is a VG 2nd half option too. He must be considered a Canes option.
Re Higgins. He was VG. Made a few early errors but certainly I hope the Canes sign him. Interesting is if PUJ is back next week as he's playing well too. Maybe PUJ at 2nd and Higgins at center next week to see how he goes (has he ever played center or always 2nd 5) and then decide on the best option for the finals. I think the coaches will revert to PUJ and Proctor though if both are fit. But Higgins seems to be a good defender but offers more on attack (esp compared to Proctor) so hope to see more of him in the next 4 games. But PUJ would feel like giving up if he loses his 2nd position to Higgins for Wellington. All Black to just a reserve for Wellington and part time starter for the Canes. Esp with Barrett likely to focus on 2nd 5.
I thought Aumua was another standout in this game. Numia is almost essential to the team too but it wasn't his best game (he has been VG some games). But still good
And I hope your daughter continues to be a good luck charm.

Just finished watching the first half. A few talking up Higgins and I admit I haven't watched him too closely this year, but a couple of times I have noticed him looking a bit slow, or not exactly quick. Do I have the wrong impression?

Yes. I was a bit concerned about this but his speed is good. I've seen him following a kick through and was surprised how good he was speed wise. He will never be a fast winger but more than good enough for 2nd 5. And center too. But not wing
I would see him as faster than Conrad Smith. He was a bit slow at first but even with Smith they worked with him and his speed improved.
@Canes4life would know more about Higgins though

I would say he’s definitely faster than Conrad but probably slower than Nonu and they both turned out fine. 😁

Higgins was great. You'd have to hope him and Lakai are around for years to come in Canes jerseys.
Really happy we keep the Shield over the summer.
After that Northland performance I thought we'd be struggling to make the 4, but been a real turnaround since.
Congrats on the little one canes4life. Nothing better than watching them grow

Cheers bro, she’s grown a little already in two weeks haha.
The fact we are unbeaten with Aiden Morgan running the cutter shows how important he is to our run for a title. He definitely has a few work ons as he’s still developing but the way he conducts the team has been brilliant. We look like a different team when he’s playing.
