Safety aspect is in his hands. Just like taking a player in the air or high tackles. Intent doesn’t matter.
He did target the leg from the side which is dangerous. Can ruin careers.

It reminded me of Argie prop playing for the Force on Cane.

An Australian mate reckons you have 1 minute after a penalty to kick - is that a thing?

If you're kicking for goal, sure.

    Otherwise, play the fucking game.

    @Frye

So to be clear, if you elect to kick for goal, you have 1min? Is there a different rule for clearing to touch?

    Correct

So if you're smart, you say your kicking for goal, then just kick it out, from the tee, miles upfield. Yes they will have the line out, but you can take the full minute and it's a long way back!

And, given the penalty was awarded at 78:25, it wouldn't make a difference

That was ruled on a long time ago. Once you signal for a shot you have to make a genuine attempt. Pretty difficult to kick it out when making an attempt at the posts without looking like taking the puss or risking handing the ball to the other team anyway

I hope that gets a post match red. Grub

Yeah I see an unco fucker driving in the side and going to lift the leg and flip the player, like you see in every 3rd ruck. Unco fucker misses and loses his balance. Reckless, not intentional.

Disagree, you can't lift an opponent's leg if you are firing in like that. Swain is almost horizontal.

The slo-mo doesnt really do it justice. And Swain is kind of a grub, so I honestly wouldn't put it past him.

    He should see a suspension.

This game again showed that we desperately need a 10 that can take some control of the game. Beauden hasn't been in good form and Mo'unga is just all over the shop. If Beauden doesn't recapture his form, which seems likely given he is getting on in years now, I just can't really see how we win the RWC. We're going to be put under the pump and we are just too flakey in that position to handle any sort of pressure it seems.

Oh definitely, you can't, but like I said - you still see it throughout the game, it's the standard tip the player out of the breakdown fare. Swain was just super unco and when he made no initial impact, lost his balance.

Great execution from Jordan but the wrong decision to go for it

We may or may not win the RWC. I thought he did a lot of good things tonight and moved the ball swiftly and created space and opportunities for us. He communicated well and made some good kicks at goal. But he’s rocks and diamonds like many of our players right now, in particular our backs, including our good ones like Ioane and Jordie.

And you are in the running for broken record award no doubt 😉

That was electrifying to be at live.

Whilst not a rectangular ground there was plenty of atmosphere under the roof. Pretty close to 50/50 fans split.

ABs remain unconvincing. Wallabies exploited the defensive flaws brilliantly.

A bit hot and cold from Hoskins but for his first test of the year I thought he went well - his skillset is amazing.

Operation Jordie at 12 might seriously be underway now

Haven't read the thread since kick off, surrounded by wallaby supporters, but my takeaway was the randomness of the French refereeing. Not aided by the TMO in any way.

@NTA man, stop pretending like the rules arent a gentle persuasion to the main man. The ref is what we are there to see. We want to see him in all his glory making the big decisions that decide big matches.

The players are just there to support the bloke that really matters.
