Pleased he's back and fit, but, jeez that was a hard read - almost cringeworthy in places. I know it's only one interview, but it was so buzzword & cliche-ridden he sounded like a team leader in a failing call centre.

The Allblack players give identikit cookie cutter interviews and have done for a long long time. Andrew Hore was the last character who shot from the hip.

The coroporate speak has shown how rugby disappeared up its own arse and could also be discussed in the current state of rugby thread.

learnings, mitigation (when it comes to cards), "he brings positivity to the group", "he asks all the right questions" .

    a load of bollocks

@mariner4life haha. I did like that 2006 3Ns squad. We had some hard nosed dudes in there.
Kidwell, Pritchard, Wiki, Guttenbiel, Motu Tony, Matai, Puletua, the Cayliss bros, Soliola, Vatuvei, Roy Asotasi.

We just went up against one of the all time great Aussie sides that had Lockyer, Thurston, Cam Smith, Petro, Inglis, Gasnier, Hayne, Hindmarsh, Thaiday.

And I reckon we were robbed in that second test.

Anyway ABs to win by 7

@Victor-Meldrew why not go rip up the tennis courts and give Jeeves a damned good thrashing while you're at it old sport. Then set the sauna on fire and feed the caviar to the working dogs before the fox hunt.

Jeez, get with the times, mate. You may beat your servants but it's been passe for years down our way.

I know they’re installing a new style under Kidwell but they’ve got a real shot here.

Footage has surfaced of Kidwell’s new tactics

Jeeze I wish players were still small enough for this sort of stuff to be not be a problem.

Did you watch the third test vs Ireland?

If we play that badly again, my wine collection as well as the TV might end up in the swimming pool. If we can at least break the "two losses in a row" pattern we've seen in the last year or so, that would be progress of sorts.

A solid, calm start would be a good thing to see. Get some points on the board and then take control for a good win rather than playing from kick-off as if there's a 50 point cushion.

Good God man, give yourself an uppercut and get a grip.

Skull the wine to help with the depression, don’t get rid of it.

Better still I'll PM you my address. I'll even pick up delivery charges.

Let's start by remembering we should have won on Saturday, and that our starting tight five did a number on Pumas.

Ofa, Nepo and BBBR are back. That said, bar injuries there are good reasons to start with same tight five. The one area of debate for me is hooker. Sami is throwing 100%, and one could argue that last 20 is when that is most valuable.

The Cane/Frizell/Savea combo worked well in first half, and I think bogus yellow hurt us in losing hard and direct carries.

But punch definitely faded a little in last 30.

To me, argument for Ofa and BBBR on bench. And possibly give Coles another run.

In which case, I'd run Cane and Frizell flat out for 45/50 then bring on BBBR and move Scooter to 6. Ardie to 7 and Akira or even Hoskins to 8.

With Bower and Ofa also joining around 50 that brings a lot of go forward to bear.

    Backs is much harder.

Starting seven went well for at least 30.

Against that, to me neither Havili nor Rieko run hard lines to hold the defence, so I quite like thought of Tuapea at 12 and building some skip moves around him, and back three also offering threats.

10 is almost the toss of a coin, and goal kicking might be a key factor. Pumas gained at least five on us in that department, which ended up being decisive.

Bench also tricky. The multiple repetition of a tactic which wasn't working doesn't lend much support to Christie (and Mo'unga), but if bench 10 is BB or Perofeta (good closer) Blues combo probably tips the balance. Last place is either a 12, which covers all possibilities from 11-15, or we need someone to play out of position.

    My team:

    EDG/ST/TL/SB/SW/SC/SF/AS/Nugget/RM/QT/RI/CC/WJ/JB

    Bench:

    GB/DC/OT/BBBR/AI/FC/BB/DH

What is apparent is that we really do need to win a couple in a row so that we can give some of the squad some test match game time.

There is what we the fan’s want and what will probably go through coaches head. The starting forwards I cannot see changing, they dominated for 45mins. I can only see the fr staying on later. Backs only change I think these ciaches make would be BB either at 10 or 15.
Bench is were I think changes will be made. Coles, maybe Ofa and BBR. I would go Fakatava but not sure they will. But honestly I just want them to put a string of performances together. Problem now is they win and the cycle continues loose, the cycle continues… between a rock and a hard place

I not too sure of what changes should or will be made. Like most thought our starting pack went well. Backline I would be interested to see Tupaea have a run at 12, but think that will also mean that a good chance of BB taking over from RMo, as I really think RM plays better with Havili to take the ball off set piece a bit. Wouldn't mind seeing Jordan have a break, and Reece there, Jordan doesn't seem to be quite there in most of tests this year, haven't really seen him (apart from Ellis Park) really look like he wants to contest high ball, or actually really tackle, and certainly not come in off wing, mind you I might bave a little residue thoughts still in mind from Irish test I was at in Wellington, where apart from a glorius 20 second run he made to score he looked almost disinterested. I am wondering if having Hoskins on bench is worth a try to, but I guess we will all know later today.

At the bottom of the press release

Owen Franks and Luke Romano return because experience matters. The NZ U20s captain George Bell will make his debut because he’s building nicely. Billy Harmon comes in on the back of a couple of NPC games.

Not considered due to injury Ethan Blackadder, Cullen Grace, Joe Moody.

Not considered George Bridge, Codie Taylor

I can't wait for this selection,Then I can decide to laugh or fucking cry.

Will we see panic in selections or revert back to some players tried before who have not done their jobs.

    Lost sheep syndrome maybe.

Agreed. One only has to re-watch the first half to see we were dominating them and should've won easily. The broader issue is lack of comprehension regarding the impact of a ref and on this I felt like I was transported back a decade and a half.

It should've been identified what the impact was and how t negate it. Instead we made the same errors and become the architects of our own demise. Unfortunately it seems that the talk is about not giving away penalties rather than a recognition that in the face of such a refereeing interpretation, the secret isn't to have the ball: Play smarter.
