Usyk to do him even easier this time round.
-
Already been a robbery in the Jack v Rivera fight so Usyk better win well if he wants to get anh favors on the scorecards.
-
@African-Monkey I think Joshua may throw caution to the wind early and and attack first 6 rounds , lots of attempted body shots .
Usyk survives that he should have him on toast
-
@kiwiinmelb Everyone says that and he needs to do it no doubt, but he hasn't shown any evidence that he knows how to as he doesn't have a very good gas tank and doesn't trust his chin add to that Usyk has some of the best boxing IQ you'll ever see.
Chisora and Briedis gave Usyk a bit of trouble because they're both effective inside pressure fighters that back their chins to hold up in close. If Joshua can pull it off then fair play to him but I'd be shocked if he does.

I think Garcia will install a more aggressive fight plan , and logic says he has to when you look at fight 1,completely outboxed but there was a brief period middle rounds where he had a bit of success with body shots , I think they were the rounds Joshua won on the cards ,
if he isn’t going to outbox usyk but holds an advantage in size and power what options does he have ?
Can’t die wondering
-
Improved performance from AJ but end of the day if the fight goes the distance, usyk is still going to outpoint him
-
Good effort from AJ, he did well, but no way did he win that. Feldmann had a shocker giving it to AJ.
Had it 116-112 Usyk.

@Dice why is Joshua furious with decision (BBC)? To my relatively untrained eye it was close. but Usyk was busier with more meaningful shots.
AJ's corner kept telling him he was winning rounds that he wasn't, so I guess he was surprised when he didn't win.
The crowd probably won AJ a few rounds that he didn't deserve.

Doesn’t sound too furious according to this article.
Where to now for Joshua ? Gonna be incredibly hard to be taken as a serious contender after this.
Would love to see Usyk against Fury and/or Wilder although I feel he’d have no chance against the former.

Depends what he wants ,
Has a big loyal supporter base , probably the biggest of all the heavyweights , can still earn plenty of coin if that’s his goal
As examples a fury v aj , wilder v aj fights would still generate plenty of interest no matter who holds the titles

Just in case you missed what happened post fight. AJ snapped. His speech after this was even weirder.
-
@Dice wtf was he saying, it was hard to tell why he was going off - that the other guy beat him due to skill as Joshua is stronger or something? When he starts talking about character I got a bit lost ... probably a bit much to expect coherence after a boxing match and being gutted about losing I guess.

A bit classless from AJ afterwards, taking Usyk's moment away from him like that and Usyk didn't look impressed.
Nice to see AJ showing his true colours and finally breaking away from the stay humble act that he's faked throughout his career.
-
Toys, pram
But at least he showed some dog
Translate that to his boxing and he might regain some relevancy

he has had a very good run as the darling of the mainstream media in the UK for a long time,
And Fury was always painted as the bad guy ( although it has got a bit better )
imagine the reaction if Fury carried on like that ,
Its going to be a bit funny watching the AJ fans if Fury goes on to beat Usyk , it will be their worst nightmare,
and at what point does Eddie stop banging on about AJs resume ?

Fury says he'll take them both on on the same night
Probably would too.I wish we had the AJ/Fury fight just to put AJ in his box because he still doesn't understand why people beat him.

I’m still not convinced Usyk is the “generational great” that Joshua claims either.
Or maybe he is and it’s a reflection on this generation of heavyweights ( although in the last few years I’ve seen enough of Fury and that awkward style to make me think he’d trouble some of the best fighters in history at the very least )
