Proud of the boys for that performance. BoP pack were absolutely immense, highlight though not the score line but when under scrum pressure 5m out about the 50th minute, pulled out a tight head and exited successfully.
Pikerall too inconstant and could have ruined a tighter match, but the team that dominated will take all the points.
Full time 46-6

@Duluth hard to say, they were competitive for a lot of this. Their line out was not functioning that well but that was also due to the BoP pack. When they got half breaks or even full breaks the BOP scramble defence did enough to stop them from points.
They played well enough in the first 60 to match a few teams but the first half cost them. There was enough of a wind, that Trask was able to keep them contained in their half for the second 40. I would suggest a 5-10 point wind.
Not as threatening though without Perofeta sure, but just making little errors at the wrong time, that's releasing pressure in my mind is their biggest weakness right now

I enjoyed this in the sun behind the posts. Best game from Kaleb Trask in a long while. After penalty blunder his punting was very accurate. Naki back 3 did not cover well.
Elsewhere the BOP tall timber dominated aerially and loosies did a great job. Thought Finau and Walton were great in midfield and Narawa always dangerous.
Glad they put their awful display last week behind them. -

Trask has had a lot of genuine promise without quite as much delivery for the last 2-3 years, but these first two NPC games have been some of the best I can remember from him in a while.
Hopefully some sort of turning point (or injury free point) has been reached.

I felt that in the second half, BOP realised that the Naki didn't have any backline weapons so their defensive line moved up to dominate. Overall the defence looked much more solid although will reserve judgment until Auckland next week. Good to see Parete still up to his old tricks.
