Bongi injured replaced by Dweba in starting XV

I'm assuming these are Boks not teletubbies.

I'll get your coat for you 😉

@OomPB Interesting call for Dweba to start. One I actually like. There is his long standing partnership with Ox, plus Duanne is starting (giving us a starting poacher) with Marx coming from the bench, likely when Duanne gets a rest.

Before seeing the ABs team sheet, I reckon a closer game, but still a comprehensive beating

I’m inclined to start with more direct team.

Would be technical call, but possibly Newell to start. Rest tighties same. Cane, Ardie and Vaa’i. Richie to 10 and BB to 15. Assuming Jordie crocked. Rest starters same.

Hard carries and kicking for corners/50:22s.

Switch up at 35 - 55. BB to 10, RTS for Havili (Clarke running decoys/power thrust), WJ to 15 and Reece on.

In forwards upspeed with Paps and Akira. Taylor and De Groot. Lomax/Ta’avao.

Oh, and let the boys go out on the piss tonight.

You have to play more direct, this going side to side against a Boks team who are monstering them at the breakdown and squeezing the life out of them with their rush defence just doesn’t work. As Schalk Burger said the AB’s are the only side in the world who attempt to go wide without getting go-forward ball.

I’d start with DeGroot, Taukei’aho, Laulala/Ofa, Tuipulotu, Whitelock, Barrett, Savea & Cane with Akira & Papali’i off the bench. Go size and instruct DeGroot, Laulala/Ofa & Patty to empty the tank and come off after 40-50mins.

Start Fakatava/Mo’unga & instruct Fakatava to threaten their edge defence with his running game which should check their rush defence and to act as a fourth loose forward on defence. Once the game opens up bring Smith on to play a wider more up-tempo game.

Havili/Ioane pairing in the centres for some stability and we will also need Havili as another kick option & playmaker outside Mo’unga.

Stick with the same back 3 barring injury & have Clarke running off Mo’unga often to get go-forward and try to nullify the rush defence.

Areas that need focus, direct go-forward ball, breakdowns and high ball. I thought the AB defence was good last week albeit against a predictable attack.

All Blacks back row desperate for a shake-up

All Blacks back row desperate for a shake-up

Has the time come to make a big change in the All Blacks loose forwards?

We’ve got a really versatile options that we can mixup depending on opponents. If we’re playing Boks or England/Ireland start Barrett at 6 with Akira coming off the bench.

Cane is beginning to remind me of the 2nd coming of Rueben Thorne aka Suitcase but you know what? You need that type of loosie in the mix to do the consistent loose/tight play that Savea doesn’t do plus leadership. Plus Cane is still the best turnover exponent we have. Papali’i is an outstanding backup and Blackadder can play all 3.

Against the Wallabies we can afford to start Akira & move Barrett to lock or off the bench of Brodie is fit.

IMO Frizell is a waste of a pick that could’ve been used to continue to develop PGS or bring Grace into the mix. Barrett and even Vaa’i are better 6 options than Frizell IMO.

Loose forwards - Cane, Papali’i, Savea, Sotutu, Blackadder, Ioane (Barrett picked as a lock).

Next tier - PGS, Grace, Jacobson, Mikaele-Tu’u Robinson, Frizell

I'm pretty sure he's not. Even Reece is better.

Patty T is not adept enough at scrumming and mauling to play lock versus the Boks.

Could he play power 6 for a half?

If the Ioane brothers play this weekend, I'd like to see a bunch of aggressive, dickhead, grub play. Head rubs, insults, shoving players, elbows leaning in to players on the ground, getting stuck in and being the biggest dicks they can be. Take it to them in all ways.

Nah they don’t do that anymore. They got rid of that when they stopped playing video games…

Dalton was the best 7 in NZ in SR, yet his brief moments in black this year, to me show how the environment is affecting people.

James Parsons made some interesting comments in the podcast this week. He's been there and knows how it works... less vanilla than The Breakdown boys. Talked about how when one part of the game plan isn't functioning... It affects the rest of the game plan. Then the confidence goes.. and it's a spiral effect.. talked about how the Crusaders are so well drilled... everyone knows their job.. and is damn confident doing it! But that takes time... and a good coaching system.

The last Breakdown episode was the closest anyone from the panel stated Foster needs to go. Mils looked dejected, Isa is more direct in his responses but both in alluded without stating it, Foster is done.

James Parsons finally came to reason Fozzie is done. Ross was absolutely seething. You could see the steam emitting from his ears.

Are the two Sams telegraphing a pop pass close to the ruck?

@Crucial I shock my head at this. Is this practicing deceptive passing so we fool the Boks next game?
