Foster, Robertson etc

5th? Is that our lowest ever? Those Americans must be counting their stocks right now!
Pre foster 3rd was our lowest, and that was literally for a couple of weeks
-
Our first 3 in a row losses since 98. But another foster record, first time ever for three in a row losses all by 10 points plus. The man is a buffoon
All Blacks coach Ian Foster has found the silver lining in the All Blacks' worst defeat to South Africa in 94 years.
Foster praised his team's performance in their 26-10 loss to South Africa at Mbombela Stadium, their worst since losing 17-0 to the Boks in 1928.
FFS he's utterly delusional
-
Jesus, he's seeing improvements, the loss is all down to not being able to take the high ball. I'm utterly gob smacked, no mea culpa at all. There was improvement, maul defence, thanks Ryan.
Whereas the neutral observers say:
The game went almost precisely to script with the Springbok set-piece, defence and aerial dominance proving far too strong for a toothless and tactically appalling New Zealand.
Put simply, the contrast between the shambles of the All Black game plan and the organisation and efficiency of the Boks could not be more stark – it was men against boys.
Sam Cane remarked after the game that this was ‘a loss of small margins’. If that’s genuinely what he believes after a performance in which New Zealand were lucky to finish second then you have to wonder if he’s simply deflecting criticism or if he’s completely deluded.
Rarely has an All Black side looked so lost in the Test arena

@Tim 1 from 4 this year alone, will be 1 from 5 after next week.
Didn't get up for this one, looking at the HT/FT score I don't think I'll bother with the replay, mowing lawns appeals more 🤔
What other records can we break this year?
First 4 in a row?
First 5 in a row?
Lose Bledisloe?
Lose at Eden Park?
Lose to Wales?
Lose to Scotland? -

Lose to Scotland? We lost 6 in a row in 98, I think Edit nope 5, Samoa got a spanking in the sixth game haha
But the next 4 are totally on the cards if Foster stays in.

@Machpants looks like 5 in 1998, beat england before that run but drew with England in last match of 1997.
So worst run this century...
The hits keep coming!

Aww hey guys, but what about the players
Refer: the Chiefs transition from 2011 to 2012…
But we should talk about the players when the coaching is clearly defunct. Because they're playing shit in his team but not other teams.

I have wondered how much of it may be game plan, v perhaps not being willing to vary or ‘go against’ a game plan once on the field. The kicking tactics early against Ireland spring to mind from players normally much better. Selections and combinations from the coach also in the mix.
-
@Bones Your right when you say players are accountable too. But let's look at the facts. Nothing changed tactically between the 2nd and 3rd Irish Tests. Now we go to South Africa and can't handle there aerial bombardment, a tactic they've used on us before. Same Cane said it was a game of margains. He's right bloody big ones. They were men, we were boys. We once again got our arse handed to us on a plate. Foster said he saw improvement, oh good, then maybe in sometime this year we'll win another test. NO. Sorry Foster your time is up and you just simply have to go. No ifs buts or maybes. You are not up to this, now do the decent thing.

@Donsteppa and then the uncharacteristic errors, sure the pressure does that too, but if you aren't clear on what you and the guys either side of you are meant to be doing, where you are going, that split second of indecision can be huge.
There has been zero improvement in 5 years, sure that's not all on Foster, but if he was a good coach he'd have recognised some of the issues earlier and put plans in motion to rectify.
From what I hear about Razor, it's his meticulous preparation and planning that sets him apart, not necessarily HIS coaching abilities, but the fact he gets everyone on the same page, unlike now as I'm not sure all our guys are even reading the same book...
-
I don't want ill on anyone but Foster and the PR team are having a mare atm! Does he not know who he is talking to and the history of the team? To come out and say that is the best performance of the season, a game in which we did not look like manufacturing a try (and only scored one of an individual linebreak) just is terrible play. It was an improvement no doubt and boys showed way more heart but if that performance is a bottom line we are f=*ked.
Speak from the heart, that's what I enjoy about Ryan, have some passion, it rubs off on players!! -

I can understand why Razor might want to stay out of it right now. It appears we have so much to do to clean out the rot from 2019. But I wish he'd take up the challenge and I'd accept the consequences and not blame him if we don't have a miraculous turnaround
