You can ask me a hundred times what that is and I won't be able to give you an answer just yet. I'd like you to bear with me, but we've got things in place right now and as soon as I can let you know a couple changes I'll let you know as soon as possible.
@Chris-B sounds like dry powder is back. I was getting a bit worried after we last saw a couple of scoops of it in the RWC19 quarter-final, but left drums of it in the hotel lobby before the semi-final.
Take a punt on de Groot against the Boks.
Play Scott Barrett for 80 and rotate the other locks.
Jordan at fullback.
-
@Chris-B SA against the Boks not really a place for young inexperienced tight forwards to be fair. I think Razor was even protecting the young guns in SR as well. And kind of glad in a way Grace and co. not there either. If the structures and game plan were there to seamlessly fit in but.........

realistically, what actual changes are available up front?
Bower will deservedly stay
ST can come in to hooker
Both our tightheads are shit
Retallick is out so Barrett in with Whitelock
Cane is captain and Ardie must start so that means a change at 6? or Save shifts to 6 and a new #8 brought inThat's it. That's what can be done.
That's a realistic assessment.
For all the wailing, there's no Jesus forwards waiting in the wings. I'm somewhat desperately and even hypocritically (because I've never been a massive fan) suggesting Jager, because he might be marginally better than what we've picked.
Having stuck with Sam Cane, we're going to be stuck with an unbalanced loose trio.
Sami T. can provide some modest improvement at hooker.
The big call they could have made is to bring in the unready Crusaders props - Newell and Williams - at least as apprentices - in the hope that by this time next year they'll be test ready.
There's a bit more that can be done in the backs.
i thought they may have bought newell in as well . williams is wonder if he has fitness required after watching him playing for the Maori
-
@Old-Samurai-Jack Yeah - that's why I'm suggesting as apprentices.
As someone wrote a few weeks ago - the problem if we don't get them involved this year is that by next year it may be too late to save us - even if they're ready.

@ploughboy Williams is massive so I doubt he's got much stamina.
May never be a starter, but, as a bench prop he could eventually be devastating for 30 minutes.
which is fine to when he has to play 60 + minute

Richie at 10, Will at fullback is certainly worth a crack.

Well I for one was hoping for a coach who might have a clue about what to do with those players. Insane, I know.
-
What are you guys on?
Foster has just kept the same squad, except getting a couple of players back in, who we know he had hard-ons for.
He's going to play the same team in Test 1 in SA that he did in Test 1 vs Ireland.

Two changes in the tight 5 IMO. S Barrett returns and ST to start
Cane is captain and Savea & Ioane were two of the best players last Test. So no changes in the loosies.
What they do with the bench is more interesting. Hopefully Sotutu is given a chance -

Someone educate me. Where is the raft of changes that was promised?
Smae ol', same ol' if you ask me.Foster wants us to trust him. Changes behind scenes apparently.

Our current tightheads seem to struggle with that, as well.
Maybe we can innovate and pick five props?
-
@nostrildamus he promised they are keen to get stuck in, and try their hardest!
Hopefully on the plane to SA Fozzie will watch the opening 10 mins of each test over and over to see what Ireland do with the ball, and McLeod watches thier connected aggressive d line to realise rugby defence is still attacking the opposition, not sitting back waiting for them to get to you to make the tackle.
-
Wouldn't be surprised to see this forward pack:
1 Bower
2 Taylor
3 Laulala
4 Whitelock
5 Barrett
6 Ioane
7 Cane
8 Savea16 Taukei'aho
17 Ross
18 Tu'ungufasi
19 Tuipulotu
20 PapaliiThere will be a minor attack plan tweak, if we are lucky. No changes to defence.

Which means they weren't and didn't before? Well that encourages me.

It's exciting! They're excited!
