Springboks v Wales - the decider

@MiketheSnow you’re fed up with a guy who delivered a first win in SA, came within a gnat’s ball hair and one daft penalty away from a second and now has you within 80 minutes of a first series win against the World Champion, Lions vanquishing boks.
No pleasing some people…

I like the winning don't get me wrong, but fuck it would be lovely to see some creativity.
He was brought in to bring brains to Gatland's brawn, guile to graft.
Sadly absent for most of his tenure.
And to win a WC you need both, consistently, back to back for 5 weeks.
And we were one kick away from being 2-0 down.

The Apples & Black is going down very nicely
Aberdare Rugby Club is filling up nicely
Let’s hope we can continue the streak

Faletau and Anscombe injured?! What the funk

This pitch looks like they spray painted some sand green

Well played SA
Thought we might have done it with 20 to go
But then remembered that Biggar had to stay on
We were never going to open you up
And the ref was fucking useless at scrum time
And our line out woes continue

Thanks Mike.
As I've said previously, (and without being condescending) the Welsh can be immensely proud of this tour.
It wasn't the best 6 nations for them, they were at the end of a long season and injuries and just plain old workload fatigue was a huge handicap. And yet they didn't just make life difficult for the Boks, they were immensely competitive. The Boks squeaked the first test on the hooter. Wales took the second, and there was a moment in the 3rd test where I feared Wales were doing enough to take that one too. Big respect from this Bok fan.To be honest, the above was not unexpected for me. The Welsh defence is hard to break down. And they scramble and organize really well. A bit like the Boks of old, if they can keep you from scoring, they draw energy from that, and then (with bloody annoying consistency) they take almost every scoring opportunity that does come their way.

@MiketheSnow seems a good time to say how impressive your starting locks, both hookers and all your loosies have been. Played out of their skin.
Agreed, except throwing the fucking ball in
They've both been shit
Beard owes us a big match. Rowlands has been very good.
Lydiate is reborn
Faletau is just warming up. He's a 3rd Test player who loves the deep water.
Reffell has been the revelationReally good balance in the backrow
All of this.
I'm biased, but I think Faletau has been absolutely world class for most of his career. I reckon he's very underrated, even though a lot of people do rate him pretty highly. If he hadn't been hindered by some major injuries (and sometimes his teammates) then he would be considered an all time great. There is nobody better at controlling and rescuing a ball from the back of a scrum that is being completely vaporised, which is a priceless skill for a Welsh number 8.
He's going to have a shocker now, isn't he?
Well, I'm relieved that Faletau didn't have an awful game as a result of me putting a hex on him

The first 15 minutes were pretty crazy. Welsh tackle count ? and penalty count? It was pretty impressive from the Boks. The guys left a few tries out there but still won pretty comfortably after their week off. Thought Carley was decent but the turf at CT stadium needs sorting asap. Trevor N and PTSD still need gametime imo. Hope the guys enjoyed sinking a few together afterwards because it really was a tense tight series and I think that next year‘s World Cup is lining up to be a pretty tight affair as well where small margins are going to make a big difference. The Welsh Irish French Scots and Argies will all be looking to get their names engraved for the first time with arguably more justifiable hope than ever before. Love it.
Lastly…Quick off topic shout out to Chile for beating USA 👌🏻
