Probably similar to Mains then: 1992-1995

67.6% without removing the teams outside the top 10

If you do 1992-1994 (a year out from the RWC like this coaching group is) Mains percentage was 59.1% (without removing those teams outside the top 10)

Let's play a France on France. Lose to them in pool play and beat them in the final 😀

First AB team to lose a pool game - another record for Fozzie to achieve.

It's a very real possibility. On our current trajectory I would make us heavy underdogs

FYI for anyone going to the game. Apparently the Stadium is short 500 odd staff than they would normally have for a test of this magnitude.

They are recommending getting to the stadium 90 mins before kick-off to prevent massive delays.

@Kirwan have to think we are at or very close to tipping point...problem is, if we go over it in a few months, it will be too late, or more importantly, when would be too late to ditch him?

nice work @Duluth which is probably why the author left that out.. interestingly though Laurie did get us to the 95 WRC final, but none of us see Fozzy doing that

"I can't pick a game plan out, what are they doing?!" Sir Buck Shelford and other ex All Blacks are a bit concerned about their old team… 👀

It's actually not just about Foster either. We'd gone Henry -> Hansen and by the end of Hansen's tenure it was pretty clear the ABs needed to freshen up as the continuity thing had run its course and other teams were picking us off. That was the perfect time to bring in someone new but instead we not only went for continuity but we tried to do so under a coach with no previous record of success. Incredibly poor decision from NZ rugby.

I'd say the author is focusing on the professional era which is a fair point to draw the line in terms of how far back he goes. Foster is by a country mile our worst coach in that era, and it's not even close.

    Can't upvote that.

Fully onboard with clearing out the coaches though.

If I'm honest, it's Mooar who needs to go. I honestly believe that our attack the heart of the problem. The defense sucks too, but our attack is worse.

@gt12 Schmidt fixed the Blues attack this year, an obvious solution there.

Makes the photo above even more powerful. They should never have brought him (Moaar) back, he had zero record of success.

    Same with Plumtree really.

Don’t get me wrong, they’re all weak by international standards, but Mooar jumps out as a picking winners from zero form selection. Should never have been in the conversation.

Yep, only guy I can think of who "seemed" to come from nowhere over the last few years (ok probably more than a decade) was Cron, but he had the results to back him up I imagine. I have zero knowledge about Mooar's past and regularly forget he's even a coach until his name pops up on here.

Not saying I think he should be an assistant AB coach, but how do we know he's not good? Apart from hindsight of course. I am probably wrong, but I don't recall anyone bemoaning his appointment until someone on here said Robertson didn't rate him.
